Thank you, Night Star, for the beauiful vision and the ideas.

I've sent my pictures of him off to be printed and I'll pick them up this afternoon.

I'm not at all sure my heart can handle another. I've dealt with so much death over the last few years that I just don't know. Perhaps, if another is sent into my life, maybe.

I too have dealt with much death over the years. I too believed that my heart couldn't handle another, but it does. Though the memories can be painful when we lose a beloved pet, we know that we have given so much love and happiness and recieved the same in return. To make a difference in the life of a sweet and innocent animal that has done no wrong and has no home or anyone to love is such a blessing. You will smile again and you will love again and be thankful for it. It is too soon for you, but perhaps in time love will fill your heart once again. There will be joy and laughter and many special moments for you. At least that is what I believe.
HUGS!

Try a cat - they have nine lives. Seriously though, when my dog passed it was tough. I decided to get a cat and you know what? He follows me all over like a dog, acts like a dog, etc. - maybe my dog came back...

I'm so sorry. I know how much it hurts. And it's like losing anyone you love, it takes time.
I do believe in an afterlife, and I also believe our beloved pets who have passed before us, will be there for us when it's our time.

When I lost one of my dogs, I had a puppy who was six months old (she is now 13 years old), and I remember the first time I "heard myself laughing" after he died, was over her silly antics. It helped.

My best. It won't always be as painful as it is today. Hang in there Babe.

That could very well be, friend. Life is strange and wonderful at times.

Cats are great animals too; unfortunately, I'm allergic.

Thank you for caring enough to post. I appreciate that

I, too, believe in an afterlife and the loving visions shared with me in this thread have eased my heart.

Thank you for understanding and encouraging. I'm blown away at the outpouring of kindness here.
