Great... and here I was hoping that one of our Presidents would finally man up and stop supporting Israel and its apartheid-esque ways.

Considering that everyone out in that area wants Israel gone, some of them want to commit genocide on it's people, and that YET ANOTHER war out there would be VERY BAD... especially when you consider that Israel has nukes...

I think he did a very smart thing backtracking...for once.

Fair enough, but perpetual warfare (which is an inevitability as long as Israel occupies land beyond the 67 borders and enforces a blockade on Gaza) is not going to solve any problems. The longer the issue remains stagnant then the worse off Israel will be.

Actually, I would argue that as long as there is an Israel in the Middle East, that certain parties will still not be satisfied and there will still be suicide bombers blowing themselves up and taking innocent people - Israeli and Palestinian with them in the process.

Recently, Israel gave up some land for peace. Did that work? Were the Palestinians satisfied? Did the blind suddenly stop calling them "the most evil country" (seriously, you wouldn't believe some of the racists, anti-Semitic crap I have seen on here)... no they didn't and the won't as long as Israel remains a nation.

But seriously, they deserve a nation just as much as any other people. It wasn't their fault that they were dragged away from their ancestral home and scattered across the world. And after the Holocaust they needed a place to themselves where they could feel safe.

Let's face it, historically, the Jews have garnered the most persecution for any one race of people. They need a land to themselves, where they can set up defenses (and they have, boy howdy have they ever) and raise up their children to carry on their culture. Are they a perfect nation never in the wrong? No. Are they a threat to all the Arab world and all other free nations? Certainly not. Are they only human muddling along like the rest of us and shouldn't they be given the same human rights we all have, the right to make mistakes, experiment and move on with their lives?

You tell me. I know my answer, what's yours.
