Self-proclaimed apocalypse prophets/ hitler /klu klux klan/ the crusades..

Christianity has taken many blows by those proclaiming the stand in the name of Christ. of Truth. of The Word of GOD. by the instruction of Christ Himself.

The victims by such atrocities fall on the unlearned ears of atheists, souls of other religions... even the ears of newfound faith of the unlearned in Christ who easily stumble.

The Words of Christ are the handbook of life. of living. The very essence of Christian day to day blueprints..

The Bible teaches us ' lean not on your own understanding ' and yet..many fail the very instruction of the LORD.

Matthew 24:36
" No Man Knoweth the Day and Hour But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. "

though the words are clear, the unlearned viewer of self proclaimed apocalypse ' prophets ' are listening and being led astray believing the date to be truth and eventually climax resulting in further mockery and disbelief by the masses.

' the crusades '

" Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. " (Matthew 5:44)

Clearly the will and understanding of man was catapulted above the Word of GOD Himself.

This contradictory command of men have caused much chaos and confusion in the hearts of the believing and unbelieving alike.

OP...

Do not strive to be amongst the 99, strive to be with the 1. Do you understand what this means? There are times when you must learn to lean on yourself to find truth; the truth is within you. Leaning on others results in May 21st, the "witch hunt," and so on.

I agree, seek the truth for yourself and don't rely on others to show you the way. Don't judge as we don't have the right and accept others for what they believe in as love will conquer all. I am a believer in Christ and feel that these people are being mislead by a false prophet. I do not believe that today is the day of rapture as it is clearly stated that no man shall know the date. It saddens me that vulnarable folks have been misguided.

In conclusion. The very words of Christ are as follows..

Luke 6:27  " But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,"

Matthew 5:44  " But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; "

Matthew 5:39   " But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. "

Luke 6:29   " And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. "

John 13:34  " A new commandment I give unto you, That ye loveoneanother; as I have loved you, that ye also love oneanother "

John 15:12   " This is my commandment, That ye love oneanother, as I have loved you. "

The biggest mistake of the Western religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) is their exclusivism. They each declare that they, and they alone, are true.

The Eastern religions somehow have managed to interpenetrate more. Buddhist, Shinto, Confucianist, Hindu, and Taoist more or less accept each other and acknowledge that those in the other groups are fellow travelers toward the same desitination -- that which is holy and sacred in all of us, beyond any words or text. "Many paths, one mountain." There have been religious conflicts and strife in the east, but they are relatively rare, and often ultimately based in something else, like ethnicity rather than religions doctrine per se.

I'm not sayimg, "East good, West bad," that's stupid and simplistic. Of course there was tyranny and oppression and horror in the east, but it didn't usually come pouring out of the mouth of religion, for whatever reason. Whatever else they did wrong, they seem to have gotten that right.

The next leap in evolution for the Western faiths is to abandon their exclusivity, which seems like a step backwards but is paradoxically the only way forwards, out of the blood-spattered, iron-age chains that shackle montoheistic theology to this day.

" "The biggest mistake of the Western religions " "

This is clearly an off topic post. Please do not seek to derail this thread in future posts -

Waitaminute, why is it off topic? To me, it cuts to the very core of the topic.

The problem of violence the original post describes certainly permiates Christianity. But it goes beyond Christianity becuase it is a characteristic shared with the other two Abrahamic religions, and I explicitly identify it as exclusivity.

It's like we are on a sinking ship and you ask why your cabin is wet. I tell you there is a hole in the ship's hull, but you tell me I'm "off topic" because your cabin is wet and the hole is far away. In this case, the fundamental problem goes through and beyond the water in the cabin to something deeper (the hole in the hull), much as the problems described in the original post go through and beyond Christianity to something deeper in the occidental cultural pattern perhaps.

Off topic - because Christianity is centered on the Words of Christ alone. The Only Begotton Son of God.

This topic is centered around Him. His words alone.

An effort to make aware of The Word of Christ while so many currently and in the past stood their ground in His name.

you statement is clearly outside of the lines.

And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours." Luke 4:6-7

Do people really think the devil stopped making this offer after Christ?

All of the puppets you mentioned have the same being pulling their strings.

You said it, friend. The thing that is missing is that we are All One Being.
Once we, and I mean "we" as humanity in general, when we all, every single one of us, sees that we are all One, we will have then reached Utopia. Now one thing that needs to be said....we of Planet Earth are not all exactly what one could term a normal human being. There are differences in DNA and Genetics that are mostly beneath the understanding of normal people. We are of course carbon based, flesh and blood humans on the outside, but on the inside we are of a higher dimension of time and space. I know what you are thinking, Elitist thinking....very large ego there....But in reality that is not the case at all. True, those of us that I belong to love being human, in fact, we love being human so much we willingly gave up the right to go where we pleased and be caught up in the birth/death cycle of human reality. We are not special, at least not at this point. All of you have the potential to be Gods and Goddesses in your own right. I quote from my own post
here.

Right now we are a people divided, let's face this, we are divided in one of only four ways. All wars and all conflicts, all fights and all crimes of passion are directly connected to one of four things:
Race
Gender
Politics
Religion
I have talked about this before.
Mankind and the Great Divide

Why are we divided? You know why, don't you? Those who lust for power and money are the ones who divide us. When they have a war, the bankers fund both sides against each other, then, when it is all over, both sides have to pay back the bankers.

The television presents us all with talking heads that are supposed to tell us the "news," that is, "what is going on in our world, and our back yard. Do they do this? No! the "news" is a show! The MSN are all owned by corporate interests, and speak on the party line only. Talk out of place, you go the way of Lou Dobbs. The MSM tell us what to do, and when. Think about this. The only thing that divides humanity is we, ourselves.

The Eastern religions somehow have managed to interpenetrate more. Yeah, it does sound like a step backward, doesn't it? But I too see it as a giant leap forward. Pass Go and collect $200, which translates into:
BE. Say, "I Am!" Say it as loud as you can. See? You really are, aren't you now?

Lol.

Sad, to box yourself in like that.

Why?

Well, fair enough anyway...your thread, your rules. I shall thus henceforth vacate it. I find such limited arenas stultifyingly simplistic, personally.

Before I depart, I invite you to leave the iron-age rusty weapons in the sand and come outside and play with the rest of us. It's nice out here, you might like it! I'll be waiting for you in case you change your mind...

peace.

i agree, and as Christ refused .. many are searched after to this day. many in the ' arts ' songwriters, actors, musicians ect. people you would least expect and at the same time expect simultaneously. especially anyone with a bit of power.

Where there is one, love can strive unimpeded. Where there is division, humanity is like a chicken with it's head cut off.
