Hi there,

First off, let me say that my intent is not to start a debate on the existance of God (even though atleast 1 person will reply to that effect). However, I am curious as to folks thoughts on what they would create or how they would change things if they were God.

By the term God, I mean an all powerful, eternal entity that can have it thier way. Again, hypothetical here please.

Personally, for fun's sake here, I have always been a fan of fantasy novels..... So I would probably create a world much like this one but add things like Magic and Dragons and stuff. I would also probably create more lesser diety's just to shake things up a bit. I would interact with my world that I create, like zap myself into a dinner party and just say hello, then zap back out again. Things like that.

Some folks will probably think me selfish and shallow for thinking along these lines, or say that you are just copying an existing old belief or system....but o well, I am God right? So I will do what i wish!!

Hypothetically though, this started to make me think about my life and how the world is in reference to the possible existance of God. I must say that certain things, moments or whatever you wish to call them have made me extremely happy that I have the opportunities afforded to me in this life.

1. The birth of my children and my presence there and the joy of that experience. The feeling of true love.
2. The mysteries that present themselves each and every day in this forum. And the challenge/molding of my beliefs based on that input.
3. Pizza!!

So IF by some chance there is a God that created all this with all possibility at his fingertips (or tentacles or whatever he has) I find it pretty generous that he would choose to decide to create a circumstance in which I could have this wonderful gift that is life.

Either way, I am one lucky guy!

I have a few things.

1. "Hammer Time" will replace all hymns in all religious texts.(yes, that is the first thing I would do if I were an all powerful being)
2. I would trade in Justin Timberlake, John Mayer, Brittany Spears, and Justin Bieber for Andy Wood, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Janis Joplin, and Bradley Nowell.
3. No child leashes.
4. Glen Beck would be reincarnated in 1776 as a British General, just to spite him from on high, and subsequently smite him for cursing my name. My present to both left and right alike.
5. Pics or it didn't happen
6. And... um... no disease, pestilence, hunger, famine, murder, war, etc.
7. If you don't play by the rules, you get an omnipresent boot to the face.

I would leave it the same the more that I think about it. The deserving ones eventually learn and grow out of old habits. there is equal love and pain, life and death. yes it's fine.

Well.... if I were God, when creating Adam, I would leave off the penis since that thing seems to have caused so much trouble for the Human race.
As for Eve, I wouldn't have made her from Adam's Rib but rather his funny bone.

As for this whole religious Heaven and hell business, if I have to judge, I would do it while in this life, and not wait for the individual to drop dead...... but then again, isn't that Karma?
and as for sending out my only Son to die for Peoples sins..... don't be bloody ridiculous... I ain't gonna let that happen!
Nor will I give him the power to walk on water, he can have a stick, like Moses, to part the water..... benefits more People, and instead of conjuring up bread out of thin air, let it be Pizzas instead.

As for everything else in life, I'll leave it up to the individual to create his or her own reality.... and take responsibility for it.

Amen

p.s When I create something, like say, a marijuana plant, it's there for a reason, smoke the darn thing!
I'm not about to muck around with the likes of Moses giving him a burning bush as a hint that he needs to chill and mellow out.

If I were God (speaking of the Christian God), I would not have chosen
to put such insane criminal people on this beautiful planet to destroy it with greed and
crimes against humanity and other living creatures.

BTW I am agnostic as I think we are not meant to
know what will be in the future or after death.

We are going to be oh so surprised!! or not

I would have given humans smaller brains. I read vonneguts novel, "galapagos" again recently, and the basic premise of the book is higher thought is more trouble than it's worth, the comparison being the bliss that a galapagos marine iguana's life is compared to a human existence which in vonneguts eye can be summed up with one word : embarrasement.

the human searches for a vague idea called happyness, and loathes humself for not having it, pollutes everything around him, destroys entire cultures over greed, and kills for the fun of it, the iguana swims into the ocean to feed on sea weed, then suns on a rock to digest it. repeat

yup, smaller brains for human folk

what? you mean im not? lol

well, i would expand myself to infinity, create whatever and everything my mind can conceive, create some more.

eventually i would get bored of being all knowing so i would choose to test ride my creation instead, and since im god, id multiply myself even more, so i could live and experience my creation inumerable lives at a time, also forgetting who i am so to make the experience more real, i like the drama.

then i would contract myself, and start all over again.

The main think that I want to do is justice, justice for everyone. I'm not pro-war but I think if this world is peaceful, it would be a very boring place. Well, that's it, exterminate the injustice.

I just want to live in my own world, really, all I want is to be myself.

God? There is only one of him, and he cannot be named, he came before all known beings in existence. To those who want to be Gods, there is no point, because God is so subtle that he does not even have a sense of self. That being said, there will always be those that believe that they have something to distinguish themselves above others, whether it be power, or knowledge, but ultimatley, we are only really a function of our age and experience within this universe. There are new beings that God is creating, and they are created all the time, and will continue to be created for all eternity.

I guess, realistically, if I could do anything, I would remove the control matrix and allow people to experience themselves in this reality as they are supposed to be.

I would compress the entire cosmos into a single neuron with its axon and dendrites curled up in a spiral, so the energy and chemical processes could cycle through it for all eternity, giving endless jolts of pure pleasure.

Haven't you always wanted to wallow in a formless, undefined cosmic soup of pure pleasurable energy? All senses compounded into a single sensation, all pain banished? What more do you want?

I read somewhere, that given the amount of neurons in the brain, and thier possible connections, we literally have more possible configurations of thoughts than there are particles in the known universe. I guess, even if you imagine your own reality, given infinity, it is going to be shared by other beings who happened to imagine the same thing.

If I were God, I'd create tons of worlds for ME to live on...kind of like a house on every planet...if I wanted warm weather I'd go to Venus...cool weather I'd go somewhere else... I'd also have my family around, they'd get no power though.

I'd have animals too, sheep that orbit the sun, my cats could play in outer space...plenty of room to run around, they can use earth as their scratching post. I'd also play tons of pranks on humans.
Sorry, I just wrote whatever came to my mind...you know...because God doesn't have any limits...

I would:

1. Make it impossible for man to create any kind of radiation, gun powder, or explosive.
2. Do away with birth defects.
3. Make it human instinct to NOT abuse children or the elderly in any way.
4. Make it a point to appear to every individual at least once when they reach adulthood, so they know I exist and that I love them.
5. Set a fixed maximum on the number of humans occupying the earth at any given time. Births would simply stop until the population is reduced through age, accident, or disease.
6. Command my children to capture and farm the animals needed for food, and to leave the rest of nature alone.
7. Set a commandment that no product can be made where the waste is no longer compatible with the earth.
8. When the heart of a man is fouled by senseless hate (such as the hate of the color of another man's skin) his body would visibly begin to rot. When he accepts that his hate is wrong, only through the forgiving embrace of those he offended may he heal.
9. When a couple is wed, I will shut off their lust for others.
10. I would give mankind all the food, clothing, and shelter needed in order for them to strive for knowlegde, instead of just survival. For I am a lonely God in need of intelligent conversation. Stupidity will be frowned upon.

I would probably try my hand at creating millions of worlds, but over time grow bored with existence and create an angel like species of light to act as a safety net while I slumbered for an eon or so....

As per hell, I would make it a place of purification. After a soul has been purified, whatever is left get's another go at life to rebuild itself. If nothing is left it get's a one way trip to oblivion.

As per heaven, I would use a reincarnation cycle. Better/more moral, empathic a person the more moral and empathic world they would go to in the next life.

Because I honestly can't see a normal sentient being of any degree of intelligence remaining sane after existing for a looooooooong arse time, let alone eternity.
