Need help burning cd's...

I have been using Nero Kwik Media to burn cd's. The problem is I can not play the cds on any cd player other than my computer. The audio files that are downloaded are in MP3's. The blank cds I use are memorex cdr. Anyone know why they will not play on any cd players?

If you place the cd in your comp, and explore the contents, what is the file extension on each file?

They need to be .wav files to be burned so that a regular cd player can read them. The program should convert the mp3's for you. hmm.. Try a diff program maybe. Or maybe someone else has the same one your using and can chime in.

Are you "closing" the cd after burning?

There should be an option to do so. This "closes" the disc so that players can then read them.

Unless the cd player specifically says so, they do not read wav files. By normal standards, the audio cd must be cd audio format.

It's also referred to as multisession. Allows you to add more data after the intial burn.

Most burners should give you the option to leave it open, or close it.

Deepburner automatically changes .mp3 to .wav, and gives you the option to use multisession, or not.

Plus it's free!

Yes. Selecting the "music cd " option when you intialize the program will automagically do all the hard work.

ASPI initialization error? What is this?

Anyone have any other burner's that will convert files automatically, the problem with the error msg is going on with a lot of ppl and it seems to be impossible to fix, even according to their online help.

When you are ready to burn, it will pop up your file explorer, just go to where your mp3's are at. And select each one, hit add, etc. When they are all added, then you would click burn. You should also see a little meter showing how much space you have left on the cd.

if you are still using windows xp you need to install ASPI drivers

Wow you're really going through the ringer here.

I have never had a problem with Deepburner on any XP system. Have not had to download drivers to burn a cd.

I'm not sure about the program you are using.

Keep in mind that if you are trying to burn an audio cd that you can play in any car or boom box make sure to burn as an audio cd not a data cd that happens to contain mp3s.

Also, finalize or close the disc -whatever option your program provides.
