The pictures were taken in Moscow, Russia on October 8, 2010, I may give you exact point on Google maps if interested.
Actually it is a view from the doors of my office, I walk there nearly everyday for more than 3 years and never seen anything like this before. There was a kind of half-flower in the sky made of 5 great "petals" radiating from one point somewhere on the horizon. The ends were very long and melting on the ends.

Here are the pics I've managed to take with my mobile phone -

I've altered the pics a little to make the lines more visible

And here's a scheme of how it all looked like (sorry me not an artist at all, but I hope you got the idea)

What could it be? Are those the "chemtrails"?

Yea they are CHEMTRAILS not CONTRAILS...the difference is as you see in the pic is that chemtrials drop altitude then spread out the lines are actually cause but the pump effect as the spray is pumped out hense why some trails stop and start again as they change canisters, be prepared my friend for ridicule and bash about to commence after this post, but pay no attention to them they try to debunk chemtrails by explaining contrails which is really no argument since they both exist and have variable differences..

Meh, likely just some cirrocumulus clouds.

the thing is that they were too huge and perfectly symmetrical to be ordinary clouds. and cross-striated too

Sometimes nature is stranger than science, or science fiction even.

I concur with a poster here, that it might just be normal cirrus clouds.

The best way of viewing those is to look at the 250m version, and download the Google Earth version, so you can see where the cites are. Moscow is pretty apparent here though, as the brown splat in the direct center of the image.

Lots of contrails, and banks of cirrus clouds.

Likely they are old parallel contrails, and the "petal" shape you are seeing is just perspective.

You can see where the contrails start and stop as they enter the regions of air that cirrus clouds can form in.

Energy moves through the atmosphere like it does through water, in waves. (Actually all energy moves in waves, but I'm sticking with the topic at hand alone). Waves are regular, until the energy goes away. What you see is waves of wind showing up on a cirrus cloud layer. When these waves show up it make the cloud an undulatus. What you are looking at is a cirrostratus undulatus cloud.
And the cross-hatching effect shows the cloud was shaped by winds from two different directions. In different clouds at a different altitude most likely. Cirrus clouds can be very thin and see through.
Here's a picture:

This cloud is a cumulocirrus, a bit thicker than the one you pictured. See how the lines are parallel? Wind. If you look at the upper left corner, there are lines of clouds going in a different direction. Different wind. This picture was published in 1905, before airplanes.
As far as the lines going to a point, that's perspective. Most likely they are crepuscular waves. Here's a great site, with explanations. I've set up the first page, navigate through the topic with the upper-right side arrows. There are about 8 pages, and show lots of pictures with the rays being more obvious than your pictures.

There's better versions of those 1905 photos here, I scanned them in from my copy:
picasaweb.google.com...
There are many photos there that resemble some of what people say is "suspicious" nowadays.
