I'm guessing the UFO propulsion either has something to do with photons (light) or photons are a side-effect since many UFO's glow and seem to glow when in the air they also seem to glow even brighter when they accelerate.

It may have something to do with electromagnetism, as you indirectly suggested, since magnetism is nothing more than virtual photons.
