Is it true that women come to a "second" coming of age, when they reach their late-twenties, early thirties? On the one hand, we revel in the changes and maturity, of gained wisdom, and worryless effort it takes to handle our daily routine. Most of us, (not all), have it seemingly" together" and figured out who we are, what we "do" and what we want from life. On the other hand, we count calories, carbs, sugar, exercise too much or too little, count grey hair and color as necessary. We see the laugh lines that form and lie to ourselves, that no one sees them, a little cream at night to fix that right up. We carry ourselves in front of established galpal network of friends, as someone with strength and confidence. Yet, behind the laughs over sextoys, and those stupid clueless college girls, with perfect slim little bodies, we snicker about, ....we don't admit, even to ourselves, our one fear. Our sex drives have taken a huge nosedive! For months at a time, we get frustrated, because, although our thoughts are along the lines of sex, and our brains want it, our bodies are on a 'sleep timer'. .....Then one day..just one afternoon out of nowhere...a sleek, handsome specimen of jogging manhood, passes under our noses, and it's like that silly song,"OOOhhhh, yeah!" Lights back on in the libido department, and we are romancing our lucky husbands and mates. I can't figure it out, on one minute, off the next, like a damn faucet, that the stupid utility company can't seem to fix.... I'm so frustrated!!:bnghd:

Any thoughts, advice, or commisseration on this topic would be nice.

Is that really what goes through a females mind?

That's scary.

And what is this "coming of age" mean?

Yes, dirty old women do think about sex.

j/k....really perhaps I need to clarify. Coming of age: Turning '18' turning '21'
significant b-days, that make us technically into adults. "Coming out" parties.
Quinceneras, Stag parties, etc. Exciting stimulus, that make us do really silly and irrational things. Not all people do irrational or stupid things on these events, but this is all generality based. Not all women in their late twenties and early thirties think like this. Heck most of us are too damn busy with our lives to even consider sex as part of the routine. Some of us think sex is routine, some are still lucky enough to think of it as fresh, exciting and "new" feeling. Unfortunately, there are those of us out there, that due to hormonal imbalance, meds, or other causes, such as daily stress, work environment, or just a simple change of focus, be it schooling(continuing adult education), or other factors, that can't seem to get their bodies in harmonious agreement, when we want a little nookie. We love our husbands and mates, no doubt.
We just can't seem to get them to understand, IT's NOT THEM, that has us in a state of abstinence from sexual activities, it just takes patience sometimes, and a bit of understanding. We are not always in the mood, all the time, 24-7, 365. Then again, there comes that moment of clarity,(which I am addressing) when we realize, we are sexually stimulated human beings with the same urges as everyone. When it happens, look out guys!
Your woman is on the prowl for you! More than likely she will take advantage of her circumstances, and both mates will be rewarded tremendously, with nice big -O's! Sorry to be so blunt!

I hate to scare you, but you may have Peri-menopause. Research this on Net. I read your post and I know exactly what you're saying.
Do you suddenly have bad PMS?
Getting acne again like a teen?
Rarely think of sex---but then all of a sudden-- lust in the worst way? Especially right before and after periods?
Gaining weight for no good reason?
Having trouble losing weight?
Insomnia and/or disrupted sleep?
Poor memory?
Aches and pains, especially in morning?
It might be Peri-menopause. And it can last for years! Aaaarrrrggghhh!!!
I have it and so do alot of my friends.(BTW I'm 38). It sucks. Do look it up on the Net--there are lots of sites and lots of info. Also, there is alot of advice as to natural remedies, etc.
Again---don't mean to be the voice of doom---I offer this info as a way to take charge if this is the case (perhaps not!) And age brings wisdom---you found Firefox, yay!
Best of luck,
NN

I go back and forth on the libido.....
I think I have "peaked" and am on the downside.
But I remain open minded and feel like maybe I am just not with the right person (BF tends to irritate me mightily--which kills sex thoughts! I could never understand those people (esp TV characters) who "hate each other" but still wanna "do" each other! Not me--you get on my nerves, I ain't interested in nothing from ya!)
On the upside---I am into the healthy lifestyle, herbal, holistic type thing (I do have a vice in beer though! And for 38 people tell me I look 25! Viva la Vitamins! I do wish I had more energy though! Wish the libido was more reliable too!
Ah, well I found my true love long ago anyhow---his name is Sam Adams.
