my question was really addressed to those that totally reject the MSM for the reasons I laid out but nevertheless believe alternative sources almost
without question.
Psychological trauma from the fracture of trust is one reason I can see for people taking this position. These would be people who did have a lot of
trust in society and the media, but one day managed to see past some of the whoppers that have been played out in the media. Since then they have
continued to look towards the alternative media for their sources of information as they become disillusioned.
I can still clearly remember the moment that it all clicked for me that 9/11 was not incompetence, but an inside job. I had to reevaluate everything
and it took a few days to start to make some sense of the world again. Alternative or independent media has the balls to call it how it is while the
MSM continues to play politics. Corporatization of industry has created a lot of close ties and conflicts of interest over the years and it is
something to be aware of, many important stories have been stopped by just one phone call.
As for deciding what to believe? The MSM has some great resources and produce many legitimate stories. Science journals do put a lot of time, study
and research into their publications. The alternative media goes into subjects and topics that other sources do not touch. As for determining the
credibility of anything these days it does take time to become familiar with subject and make your own determination. Look for independence and be
careful with any conflicts of interest that maybe present. Look for local sources is also a good tip.
