english.aljazeera.net

The International Criminal Court will likely issue an arrest warrant for Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi by the end of the month, Italy's foreign minister said.

The warrant would be a "key moment" in the battle against Gaddafi and would make it impossible for him to escape into exile, foreign minister Franco Frattini said on Thursday.

"From that moment on, an exit from power or from the country will no longer be imaginable," he said.

A spokeswoman for the office of ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo told Al Jazeera that it was surprised by Frattini's statement. Ocampo submitted a r

I apologise if this has been previously posted. A search has yielded no results thus far.

I believe this is extremely selective of the Internaitonal Criminal Court to investigate Gaddafi on human rights charges and I am worried that if Gaddafi were to be brought forth for trial that he would not have the possibility of a truly fair trial as many of the so called facts are shrouded in miscalcuation, lies and misinterperations.

Yup your correct the apparent evidence they collected is shrouded in lies created by the mainstream news media networks covering for the rebels in east libya.

This becoming just like the Yugoslavian ICC Trail
no one has been charged because? the facts were shrouded in lies and misinterperations.

I bet they're going to send in a seal team on a kill mission, they probably won't give him a trial either just like they did with OBL.

I thought that U.S. Law says that everyone deserves a trial and due process.

No i think they want to give him a trail because Gaddafi has Oil Companies ties, even deals, so they will question him, just like what happened in Ivory coast, america then reinstalled the pro american leader in ivory coast.

The person who looked like bin laden in Pakistan was expandability.

Well now we know they don't need an arrest warrant before they start dropping bombs on where you live.

Something tells me the ACLU should be all over this.

Justice is the whim of a judge, check his chest density, It leaves much room for error, and the rest left to destiny.

Except arresting if in Israel

He will probably be hiding in Iran and thus will have to liberate there to hunt him down.

and they will probably bury him at sea too.

This is one of the many issues I have with the ICC. The ICC is not part of the United Nations. It is a seperate entity. Secondly, their own charter prohibits the ICC from acting against a nation that is not a signatory. The only way the ICC can investigate is if the Libyan Government requests it, and to date they have not.

Libya is also not a signatory to the ICC.

.....and the World gets pissy when the US over steps its bounds, especially from EU countries and the UN.

Ironic.
