I don't see why signing a confidentiality agreement in that line of work is such a big problem. Police, social workers, teachers, charity volunteers and even school bus drivers MUST sign confidentiality agreements when hired on. It's a sad fact of life when you have to make people promise not to run off at the mouth over juicy gossip... and I think Wikileaks is no different. They have to protect their sources, if they don't.. there would be no protection for whistle blowers whatsoever and they would not come forward with information the public should know.
Face it, most people love to gossip and pass rumors. Confidentiality agreements are a fact of life where sensitive information is involved.
