From the press release:

Behind the strike that killed Osama bin Laden last week was one of the U.S. military's best kept secrets: a covert campaign that officials have credited with taking out thousands of Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters. A six-month investigation by FRONTLINE has gone inside the military's "kill/capture" operations to discover new evidence of the program's impact -- and its costs.

Under the command of Gen. David Petraeus, U.S. forces are carrying out an unprecedented number of targeted raids using highly classified intelligence, aerial drones and Special Operations Forces. But is the tactic working? In interviews with Gen. Petraeus, his senior commanders and in rare footage with Taliban leaders and fighters, FRONTLINE producers Dan Edge (The Wounded Platoon) and Stephen Grey (Extraordinary Rendition) explore the logic behind the kill/capture policy and its consequences. Traveling into the lawless border regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan, FRONTLINE tells the story from the perspective of Afghan civilians, U.S. troops and the Taliban militants they are pursuing. After almost 10 years of fighting, this film examines the question: Will kill/capture help end the war in Afghanistan?

This should be an interesting production, and worth watching. Feel free to discuss here in this thread either before or afterwards; starts at 9 pm eastern time, 8 pm central time.

obviously their "kill/capture" operations isn't worth a crap if it took them 10 years to kill OBL.

Besides, I'm sure this program will be used as propaganda tool to further their delusional operations with make believe kills like of OBL.

Definitely worth watching and it's on now. This is being shown from the upfront/close and personal perspective, not mere news reporting.

Sorry to disappoint you, but this program was definitely not propaganda. It did show the professionlism of the soldiers involved in actual field movements in Afghanistan, and showed some parts that were not so favorable to our American military, like the presentation of the civilian casualties which occured in Takhar last year.

The online video version appears to still be available here: www.pbs.org...
for persons to watch if interested. Thumbs up to the producers for a fair and balanced program imo.

yeah it was very sadistic, makes you think WTF
We are terrorizing that country to no end, those nightly raids are sick.... those poor people are no threat to us.

The government knows the real threat to them is We the People.... OBL was a tool, the war on terror is a tool being used at home..

It seems those OBL like raids are very routine.... makes you go hmmmmm....

Saw the show, yep, got the message - U.S. Citizens - bad, Muslims - Innocent. Hear it every day. There's a reason they call it the Isalmic Jihad. There is no reasoning with someone who's been programmed from birth, there's no reasoning with the Army of Islam. They don't take prisoners. They don't know mercy. They want to die. So be it. Either they kill us or we kill them, it's that plain and simple. That's how it will end. So be it. That's what they're Gods want!, we should give it to them.
