Question 3 - What does it study?
Question 4 - What is your role there?

Sorry, but i don't believe you have any sort of official involvement with any sort of scientific agency period.

People are getting the estimations of arrival wrong due to the aliens time difference not being factored in

I haven't finished reading your whole post yet but when you describe someone as a former scientist you kind of lost credibility in my book .To be a scientist one has to follow the empirical method, e.g. experimentation ,replication of results and strictly controlled conditions being some of the empirical methods employed by the sciences, put simply the scientific method is a reliable means of data collection and being a scientist is not something you stop being just because you aren't employed or change career .If this person was your friend surely you would put this in the right context ? and a scientist will always be a scientist ,even if they are not actively conducting research at present .

Both correct. First of all: "Science" is not a field of study. Anyone in a "scientific" field will introduce or describe himself in terms of that specialty; and if referring to a colleague, will also name their field or specialty. That's something you always want to watch for in this type of post.

Sounds like what I'd call "Comic-book mentality." Well--that AND congenital idiocy....
