People outside the alternative health community are often confused by the lack of autism in the Amish people. The Amish do not experience autism, or any of the other learning disabilities that plague our technological society. The Amish live in a society that consists of outdated technologies and ideals, by contemporary standards. Their diet consists of eating organic, fresh, locally-grown produce, and of course, they do not follow the established vaccination routines. To the dismay of the mainstream media and the medical establishment, this has resulted in a healthier people, that are void of all of our chronic diseases. Heart disease, cancer, and diabetes are virtually non-existent in Amish villages. Equally non-existent are modern, chemically-engineered medicines, enhanced (chemically-engineered) foods, G.M.O. foods, and of course, vaccines. How is it that those who are without the "miracles" of modern orthodox medicine are healthier? The truth about health, medicine, and how they both relate to the Amish is becoming an embarrassment to some rather powerful people.

There have been 3 (yes three) verified cases of autism in the Amish, and at least two of those children were vaccinated. No information is available for the third. The strong correlation between vaccinations and autism is absolutely undeniable, unless you work for the medical establishment, the government, or Big Media. Proponents of the status-quo claim that the Amish obviously have a special super gene that makes them immune to autism. They pathetically try to rationalize that autism is some type of genetic failure (i.e. God's fault), which attacks a brain based on religious affiliation. We're tentatively expecting a space alien theory next, in a similar vein to the aliens theory used to attack those who believe in a Creator. This is truly is F.D.A. and A.M.A. science in all its shining glory. Vaccine proponents are willing to espouse any ridiculous explanation, so long as they do not have to accept that their entire industry of vaccinations is causing chronic disease, leaving autism for 1 in every 100 children now.

Well, I hate to say it, but how can it even be denied anymore? How can we not link vaccinations to autism?

This is quite the study and I had no idea that the Amish had no cases of autism, except for the three, two of which had vaccinations and the third was unknown.

I vaccinated my children not knowing any better, I wish I could take that decision back.

Screw pharmaceutical companies, stop putting money before lives...

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the information, I looked into this a few years ago as I believe it or not watched a Larry King show with Jenna McCartney on it, her son is autistic and thru a change in diet has seen vast improvement in his condition, it was suggested vaccinations were the cause of it due to Thimerosal in said vaccinations. The more I looked in to it, the more and more disturbed I was that I had vaccinated my children, being completely clueless.

It's the reason I would not allow my children or myself to have the H1N1 vaccine, which in the Canadian vaccine contained thimerosal. Disturbing isn't it that profit over life is the status quo.

Really interesting article and study. I too, as a parent, have had my son vaccinated thinking it was the best thing to do for him. I would probably take it back too. We are actually dealing with the possibilty of some level of autism in him, but have not been diagnosed yet. Heck, these days they throw the word autism out for a lot of behaviors, just like they did with ADD and ADHD a number of years ago.

It was a new report on the real culprit of in the vaccines that were making children been more vulnerable to Autism, it was last month on a report by Dr. Mercola, it seems that some vaccines have fetus cells in it, I mean cells from death fetuses the reason was given but I don't remember.

This type of vaccines are causing some problems in the brain of some children that attacks the body of the vaccinated child and those particular cells.

It was very interesting.

With all the prove about vaccines and diet, big pharma mafia will never let that one fly.

Fortunately, despite having a seemingly endless debate with the nurse practitioner I successfully avoided having my child vaccinated in any way. She recently turned 2 years old and is speaking very well, can count to 10, knows all her basic shapes, knows all her primary colors, she hasn't had so much as a runny nose in the two years she's been alive. I'm very happy with my decision.

Could it also be that they don't have day to day contact with people outside the Amish community?

That can count for some spreading of diseases but we are after all the most vaccinated nation in the world so they should not be afraid of getting sick when the rest of the nations is vaccinated to death.

Still autism is not a diseases that spreads by contact.

There is a link between autism and Vitamin B6.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Some people can not process certain forms of B6 correctly. It is possible that vaccinations are the cause.

Interesting link, thanks for that.

It is amazing with the amount of evidence out there that big pharma can still deny a link exists. I wonder if the "elite's" vaccinator their children, as in Obama's or Bush's children. It would be interseting to know as they will not touch GMO foods and only eat organic.

The Amish have a wealth of other health issues even if their children do not appear to get autism.

Living in a closed society they have passed on genetic problems from one family to the next.

I am curious too if the women who had children with autism if they breast fed or used formula.

It could be they passed something to the child if they breast fed.

I know two women whose children have autism and they both breast fed.

I know it is hardly heard of in other countries.

Some people have alleged that certain Amish groups do not vaccinate and as a result do not have autism in their communities. Both of these assertions are false.

This is incredible and needs to be seen to be believed. I don't think it is just the vaccinations. I think it is our whole lifestyle that's killing us. Why do people still wonder what is causing these illness and disease. Here is your answer. Everything we do.

Now this thread can quickly turn into a thread about autism, vaccinations and children when the most incredible and striking news to me is that the Amish do not get autism or any of the other modern illness that plague the rest of us. Amazing. Time to change.

I agree buddy, we eat garbage, we breath polled air, vaccinations are hurting us, generations are supposed to die younger, we are replacing nature with GMO's, the bees are dying, health care is sick care, money is the most importantbthing, radiation is in the air, animals are dying all over the world...It's about the time for a change.

Why keep living like this? Let's approach this with logic and take the best of every culture. That's where a global culture would be good, we just don't want any rich a$$holes in charge. Why we keep electing these people is beyond my thinking.

Let's start over...

Reading this is interesting but it does seem to be tainted by big pharma (Autism Today is a source)and does not offer much in the way of proof that both assertions are in fact false.
It says that some doctors have treated children of the Amish with conditions that are similar to or resemble Autism. They never say any doctor diagnosed any Amish child with autism.

This was really interesting too - copied from the link.

People do not want to believe that the guilt for the epidemic lies with them, especially in the case of parents and doctors. Doctors have been the quietest group of readers, and this could be related to the fact that about half of them refuse routine vaccines themselves

"When I was training, one in 2,500 [children were autistic]. Now it is one in 250. At the moment, the only logical explanation for this is MMR." -- Dr Kenneth Aitken, British specialist in the treatment of autism. (The Telegraph, United Kingdom, April 2, 2002)

"These data show that DPT vaccination may be a generally unrecognized major cause of sudden infant and early childhood death, and that the risks of immunization may outweigh its potential benefits. A need for re-evaluation and possible modification of current vaccination procedures is indicated by this study." --William C. Torch, M.D., Director of Child Neurology, Department of Pediatrics, University of Nevada School of Medicine

"Vaccination is not necessary, not useful, does not protect. There are twice as many casualties from vaccination as from AIDS." --Dr. Gerhard Buchwald, West Germany, specialist of internal diseases and participant in about 150 trials of vaccination victims.

Just a couple.

Very interesting but notice it is only one particular condition they get unique to them in that this condition is not found in great numbers outside the Amish community. We all have strengths and weakness but I think lifestyle can counteract disease potential and stay syndromes as well as increase strengths.
Over all they are in robust and hardy perfect health even though some are diagnosed with this condition that began with one Amish couple and was passed on to their children. Something has to account for that exceptional general health.
It doesn't seem a great mystery their lifestyle is to blame and the confusing of the FACT currently accepted and even widely promoted, modern lifestyle is fatal in almost all cases
appears at least to me, dis-info.

The amish are plagued with genetic conditions because their pools is a lot smaller than most cultures. They try and keep it on the compound and in turn their gene pools keeps shrinking, that would account for genetic disorders and explains why they get these kind of conditions. They need to introduce new gene pools so these things don't happen anymore, I think they try by bringing in new men, I have heard of this before but not sure if it's true.
