Just for the simple fact that this is being, for the most part, ignored on this site, I'm worried.
There is always an over- reaction on here. Where's all the usual panic?
I don't believe in coincidences, at all, and these dates are creeping me out. I'm one of those 11:11 phenom people, have been since 2009. I am also aware of how accurate the Mayans were/are.
NASA can't track a stupid satellite!! I do not trust them AT ALL!!!!!!
Anyway, I heard several years ago on the news that FEMA will not warn the people if there was going to be a direct hit from an large comet or astroid.
I'll just wait and see, hopefully all is well and there aren't too many bad quakes.

GOD be with us all.

I dont think any debris could hit the earth because of gravity but I think some small debris may hit the moon.

Maybe the yellow Hat is right, have a read:

"Natural disasters may increase because of changing global ecology. But it will not completely destroy the world. The world will remain for thousands of years. But our complaints will never end. Everyone among nearly 7 billion human beings have something to complain about. Don't worry. Be optimistic," he said.

Lets think abut this....If the president is in Hawaii in the pacific then why would anything happen there???now some think that the asteroid may hit on the eastern side of the globe..If this is the cans and it hit in the Atlantic ocean and causes this huge tsunami, then the white house may be wiped out..Then where are the elite and the president going to go?????now if it hits in the gulf on Mexico,,,there would be a event that would split the us in half..A real prediction (us in half)...that may send earthquakes up the eastern side of the globe(atlantic)and mess with the nuclear stations....But the president should have his whit house......

Un less this asteroid hits inland on the east side of the globe(atlantic)Meaning well West Virgina or Oklahoma...Now the question is how far would a blast from this asteroid reach out (north, south.east and west)..Would it make it to wash.d.c

Here you can see Sagittarius and Ophiuchus it's center of our Milky Way galaxy ..

In first picture you can see Sun yellow dot at top of Libra and will be in center of our galaxy at 22 December 2011, same like in 2012 but will be 21 Dec ..

At center in last three images you can see position of 2005 YU55 ..

How to look up a body at JPL/HORIZONS and convert the data to use in Stellarium

Image here ..

Time (8 Nov) RA ..., Dec ....... Mag

There is a good opportunity to observe what is currently the largest asteroid that makes a close approach to the Earth on the evening of 8 November.

Asteroid 2005 YU55 is 400 metres in size and it will make its closest approach at 11pm at a distance of 324,600km, which is 85 percent of the Earth-Moon distance (but there is no chance of it hitting the Earth!). If you have a 150mm or 200mm ‘scope then, despite the presence of the Moon and the asteroid’s low altitude in the western sky, it should still be possible to see it whizzing across the sky at 8.6 arcminutes a minute at the time of closest approach.

As darkness falls around 6pm the asteroid will be in Ophiuchus, some 24 degrees up and glowing at mag.+15.2. Two hours later it will have brightened by one and a half magnitudes and moved into neighbouring Serpens. At the time of closest approach at 11pm it will have very swiftly moved into Delphinus and brightened to mag. +12, but you will need a clear western horizon to follow it as its altitude will have slipped to 14 degrees.

On 8 November 2011 at 23:28 UT, the asteroid will safely pass within 0.85 lunar distances of the Earth.[3] A lunar distance of 0.85 is also 0.00217 AU (325,000 km; 202,000 mi).[3] On 9 November 2011 at 07:13 UT, the asteroid will pass 0.00160 AU (239,000 km; 149,000 mi) from the moon.[3]
