With UBL's death I have to wonder if the US and Pakistan did not pretend to have rocky relationship recently. Mainly I beleive they did this to
possibly get UBL to believe he was safer and possibly let his guard down a bit for the raid.
Alternatively perhaps it was the deteriorating relationship that drove Obama to take action before he could no longer do so?
Recently Pkaistan closed down some Predator bases.

As the US-Pakistani military and intelligence relationship deteriorates over the use of Predators, the Raymond Davis affair, and Pakistan's support of the Taliban, an unconfirmed report has emerged that the US airbase in Shamsi, Baluchistan, has been closed
This is a great example of how governments might mislead us.
