Bin Laden just jumped the shark and was cancelled as the supervillain of the last few seasons. They needed someone new (or old) to get things going again. (It reminds me really of some super hero comic where they constantly exchange villains to keep it fresh).

I feel the US is less safe this evening than last and far less safe than it was 2 years ago prior to all the unrest throughout the Middle East.

Our borders are wide open to Al Queda. Heck- they just found an IED on a road in southern TX.

Come on...Obama is taking basically full responsibility for killing him...so, I say this is definitely the "deal sealer" for Obama 2012. I certainly hope not...I still don't like this too much.

This makes sense to me.
The elections are coming up and as Obama is so un-popular he needed something to boost his profile.

It keeps the sheep occupied for another while also.
One thing that bugs me (apart from the distinct lack of credible evidence) is that on BBC/Sky/RTE last week there was a report that if Bin Laden was killed that Al Qaeda would retaliate against the U.S (I think with nukes). I'll see if I can find it.

Could this just be the catalyst for something larger to come? An excuse for retaliation?

All of the above or possibly push for the warning from last week (nuclear arsenal being detonated in europe by al qaida) to become a reality so the world will be a less safe place for everyone and then put the military industrial complex on overdrive around the world to churn the industry and economy This might also help foil China's plan of a global economy or takeover or currency manipulation in the currenty trading Just think about the possibilities if a global conflict (definitely not WW3) broke out as the entire ME is in turmoil at this time.
