Ding! Ding! Ding! Because, as I've said, Americans like you (and you are an American, I'm not stupid),
I find that hard to believe, considering that I've said, multiple times, that I'm not American, and to stop using ad hominem on me. Unless you have some sort of psychic ability to tell whether or not someone is American through a computer screen, cut it out.

believe only Americans are people.
Risking accidental collateral damage to civilians (US) is quite different from maliciously targeting civilians(terrorists).

Who's to say the cop wasn't trying to "limit" harm to non-combatants as well?
Internal affairs, possibly a court of law. Cops are specifically instructed not to fire into crowds. Anyone that does is either irresponsible or has made a serious error in judgement. My analogy works better: accidental collateral damage, not irresponsibility.

They'd still take away his badge.
As well they should.

There's a slight difference, as I've said. Both kill large numbers of innocent people, in order to achieve a political goal. Terrorists target innocents, yes. Soldiers target the bad guys, but accept that innocents will also die as just part of war. Both are wrong, IMO.
IMO too, but they aren't as close as you keep asserting.

War, is something that should be a thing of the past. We are all humans, and the people need to stand up against the elitist scumbags who deceive us all into killing each other,
Life is conflict. People will always fight over something. A world without war would be nice, but it's not going to happen anytime soon. The best they can do is try to cause as little damage as possible. Terrorists don't bother with that little inconvenience.

while they sit atop their thrones and get richer.

I was just listening to a talk radio show - - and the guest was saying - - from him talking to Muslim youths - - they are tired of war. They are not upset about Osama being killed. They don't want old world terrorism - - they want democracy.

I thought it was interesting and believable.

I actually heard the same thing on the radio this morning, I think it was the Jim Bohannon syndicated show.

I hope that it is true.

Exactly.

There are no evidence that OBL actually got killed in this raid.

We know there was a raid. But that is it.
Sigh.

They did a DNA test, and Al-Qaeda hasn't contradicted them. If they could prove, or even create suspicion, that the US was lying, why wouldn't they?

Can we trust a government that changes its official statement time after time? NO.
The reports on the rumors have changed. The official story has yet to be released in full.

I could give a # less about Obama's birth certificate. Don't blame you for not wanting to look at a guy with his head blown open. Who likes to look at that kind of stuff. I don't but its just common sense to be skeptical about this story when there's a lot of holes in the story.

Not one news source has mentioned that Bin Ladin was a religious leader. He had no military training except for what the CIA gave him. Seems like they are trying to modify history.

I can't blame Al Qaeda much for keeping quiet...

Exactly what official statement are you referring to?

Its kind of a 50/50 decision. Believe or don't believe.

If I choose to believe - - it doesn't make me wrong. If you choose to not believe - - it doesn't make you right. (and vice versa)

I am going to believe this - - - then let it go. Gone - Done - - of no more concern.

Sorry, I don't believe you, oh well right? Why do you care if I have a gut feeling you're pretending to be something you're not? Suck it up, soldier.

It's not "accidental" collateral damage when you bomb a city block to get one or two high value targets. It's certain collateral damage, and they know that full well. Point blank, we accept the killing of innocents, if we think it's for the better good. That's not much better than killing innocents intentionally, for what they (terrorists) feel is the better good. I'm sure, if they had our technology, they wouldn't have to resort to killing innocents, but the people they probably would rather kill, are highly guarded with FAR superior technology than an AK-47.

I fail to see how Cheney profits if I bleed out in the gutter over a $2 beer.

Why do you keep going back to personal conflicts between 2 people in a bar setting? The elitists, on both sides, promote hatred of complete strangers, who would otherwise have NO contact with each other whatsoever, and convince them to kill each other. And, if you're not an American, why would you be paying for beer in dollars?

What is so great about our democracy?

This is democracy; If the government vote against you seeing the images of OBL. It wont matter what you or 309 million Americans want.

If democracy had been practiced like it should be, and 309 million people wanted to see the evidence of OBL death, the US government would have had to have displayed the evidence no questions asked.

That isn't how a democracy works.

That's how a country run by polling works, AND since then it would be a straight up "force by majority" without any representation of the minorities, it is a perfect example of how w Polling Fascist state would work

YAY!

Which really isn't the same thing, and would be ridiculous in the amount it would cost.

Well yeah - - I can be skeptical.

As I said - - I "choose" to believe it - - so I can let it go. It does me no good to hang onto it - - and argue about something I have no real knowledge of.

I leave the door open if any confirmed data is brought forth in the future -- either way.

Yes, cost....
And the fact that the feeble minded would just just respond to the pollsters the way that TPTB told them to.

I'm not going to get into the semantics of what democracy is or means to Muslim youth.

The US is not a democracy anyway - - - its a republic.

The US is far from a republic. It is a Oligarchy. Ruled by the elite.
But go by the name of "a democracy".

Thanks for backing me up - - it helps sometimes on ATS.

I don't know who it was. I try to just listen to info - that I can compare to other info - - then throw it all into a big "cement mixer" in my brain and come to a reasonable conclusion.

I get no satisfaction from any death picture. I find it incredibly morbid.

understood.

but on the flip side, there are people who may be willing to be grossed out to quench their desire for proof...

vegetarians may find pictures depicting the butchering/slaughter of animals offensive but we still see it on tv etc...

That's fine Annee, don't look at them. Some of us do want to see the photos, not because we get off on it, but because we want to verify that we're not being lied to, again. You know I'm not wanting to celebrate this, please stop trying to force your beliefs and wishes on all of us. Just don't look, simple as that. Either way, they're not gonna be released, because our government is lying to us, again.

Exactly!!!
Puzzles me how some people would rather stay in never-never land, KNOWING we were lied to on 9/11.

Annee is obviously one of those people....rather not know the truth...To her the lie is much more comfortable.

Or Corporate Fascist. Wrong thread for that discussion.

My point was related to possible retaliation because of Bin Laden's death.

The youth do not want to retaliate. They want a government.
