Rome Total War Demo32.exe error on install

Hey all,

I got the Gold edition of this game (which Includes Barbarian Invasion).

~I put CD #1 into the drive, and try and let it launch from autorun.. it comes up with a Demo32.exe error.. (?)
~I try and launch it from my computer .. same error
~I " " " " Ctrl Panel and get a app is not a win32 compatible..

any suggestions on how to get this game to install w/o any errors??

I just (3 months ago) performed a fresh WinXP install with all the latest updates and my drivers as well ..

Make sure you follow all the steps, its likely some Anti-Piracy crap.

yep.. but it says to install with disk 1 .. & that's the disk i'm using.. just did a full virus scan and trojan scan .. all clean (both were updated..)
