Why do everyone thinks the apocalypse will happen in one day?
June 6th 2006
May 11th 2011
December 21st 2012
etc.

If man apocalypse happens, why do people think it will all end in one day? Its practically the extermination of an overpopulated species, in other words, no easy job, we have been in wars for centuries and we have never managed to exterminate an entire raze, much less in a single day, an as far as I know we will be the responsible for our own destruction. So, I want to hear your opinion, if the apocalypse happens (or however you'd like to call it) how do you think it will happen and how long will it take?

May 21st, not May 11th.

And yes, this is why I keep telling people about 2012.. I mean, I got people who go "Lol, NOTHINGS going to happen on 12-21-2012", but realistically speaking it's a solar cycle that would probably disrupt most of our communications and technology since we're so dependent, so it may stretch for several years. I believe I read somewhere, a quote from a white house correspondent, that the damages could take up to 10 years to fully recovery from the expected solar storm.

Not an apocalypse, I know, but I don't even think most doomsayers think it's a one day event.

Those are the ones I laugh at.

The ones I laugh at are the ones who try and portray Christ as a liar. He said "no man" will know the day nor the hour of His return for His bride.

If any man is claiming a certain day you can rest assuredly it won't happen that day. Harold Camping was proved a false prophet in 1988, so why are you still listening to him?

You're going under the assumption that I actually BELIEVE what Harold Camping says.

I don't. I know exactly what the Bible says and I know for a fact there won't be a rapture on May 21st, simply BECAUSE of the fact that the Bible says no one knows the day or the hour.

I was just pointing out OP's mistake on the date that has been drilled into everyone's heads and posted on billboards across the world.

I know, I know, but lets assume Jesus said otherwise or that you don't believe, how do you think its going to happen and how long will it take? (sorry if this offends you)

No, I'm not going to "assume" my Lord and Savior said otherwise, and similarly I do believe. I can't answer your question sorry.

P.S. The "Apocalypse" comes from the Greek word meaning: "The unveiling". It's the Greek title of the Book we call Revelation in English. The revealing/unveiling of Jesus Christ.
