US base attacked (huge explosions from ammunition cache)?
www.mathematik.uni-ulm.de...
One US GI commented after particularly big one : "Jeez, we have that much ammunition? " ( so it is obvious that US base is exploding).

Comment:
Worth to view it, and decide for yourself

I do not know where and when it happened, just relay the information from other site. Some suggested that it might have happened in Mosul.

Huge explosions shake US base in Kirkuk as Resistance rocket blows up US ammunition depot.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV reported on Wednesday evening that huge explosions had shaken the US aggressor military base in Kirkuk, northern Iraq. Al-Jazeera quoted Iraqi puppet police sources as saying that an Iraqi Resistance rocket had slammed into an American ammunition depot on the base.

The US aggressors remained silent on their losses into Wednesday night. An American military propaganda spokesman claimed that they had received no reports of dead or injured as a result of the series of explosions that resulted from a rocket striking a US ammunition stockpile.

Reuters reported that rockets and grenades could be seen in the night sky over the Kirkuk Airport which the US invaders took over as their regional headquarters. Warning sirens wailed after the first blast that took place at about 10:00pm local time.

Chaos reigned after that for an hour and a half, according to a Reuters dispatch.

Adnan Hadi, who lives some 500meters from the base, said you could see rockets taking off and falling back down everywhere within the base. The windows shattered in buildings near the base, just from the power of those explosions that were going off inside the base, he said.

Residents nearby could hear loudspeakers inside the base telling the soldiers to remain under shelters.

The chief of the puppet police in the area, Burhan Tayyib, said that a Katyusha rocket struck a weapons depot. The chief of puppet police for the entire city, Major General Turhan Yusuf said that the Resistance fighters had fired a number of mortars that struck a weapons depot in Kirkuk Airport, causing numerous explosions and igniting a fire that spread to all parts of the airport.

Agence France Presse (AFP) reported that an hour after the initial blast, explosions could still be heard in the area which was covered in a thick cloud of black smoke.

That's not an attack. Just the planned destruction of ammunition. It happens all the time.

Would an amunition dump be left unprotected from the odd rocket fired at it?

Surely there would be some form of covering to keep them safe ....

as it claims puppet police ignited the show. a minimal # of men could easily start explosions like that. who knows how they got into the base mabye they just drove by and fired rockets from their window. either way those were some pretty spectacular explosions.

THIRTEEN AMERICANS KILLED, ONE AMERICAN CAPTURED IN HEAVY FIGHTING THURSDAY NIGHT IN AL-FALLUJAH.

Violent battles rock northern part of the city as US offensive is blunted, turned back.

At about 8:00pm Thursday evening Mecca time, bloody clashes broke out between the Iraqi Resistance in al-Fallujah and US occupation troops, according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. The fighting, which quickly escalated in intensity, initially raged in the Industrial Zone and in the al-Askari neighborhood in the north of al-Fallujah. US aircraft prowled the skies above the battle in support of the aggressor troops who appear to have been surprised by the resilient defiance of the Resistance fighters.

For their part, the Resistance fighters asked residents of al-Askari neighborhood to leave their homes as a precaution, since US air strikes on the area were considered likely. The US in the past has frequently struck civilian homes when fighting broke out. The Resistance instructed residents of houses particularly close to the fighting to leave the area quickly.

Later, as Resistance forces were involved in thwarting the US assault on the district, a group of American troops attempted to seize a command point in the al-Askari neighborhood. A force of tanks, Humvees, and armored vehicles accompanied by 13 US foot soldiers advanced towards the strategic point.

FIGHTING RAGES IN AR-RAMADI.

Resistance lays siege to US troops in their headquarters.

Iraqi Resistance forces fought a series of fierce battles in ar-Ramadi, west of Baghdad, on Thursday, against US aggressor forces. At the end of the day, Resistance fighters had succeeded in surrounding the US military headquarters in ar-Ramadi, which the invaders have set up in the Presidential Palace.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance managed to drive US forces out of the building housing the offices of the Governor and the Police Chief in the city, and they also forced US snipers off the rooftop of the local hospital where they had earlier taken up positions.

As the correspondent filed his report at 10:39pm Mecca time on Thursday night, the fighting in the city was still raging between the US forces holed up in their headquarters and the Resistance surrounding them just 500 meters away. Meanwhile, other US troops were massing outside of ar-Ramadi and at the time of the correspondents dispatch were looking for a passage for themselves into the area of the camp so as to relieve their besieged confederates.

Above is the report from Iraqi Resistance. You have to read the report of both sides to get the true picture of Iraq today. I believe the reality is in between. For more detailed information, please see

"I've lost too many friends to count on my hands" says U.S. Marine Corps. Pfc. Richard Dimas, a 2003 Benson High School graduate, in a letter to the News-Sun. Dimas' letter, dated June 9, was his reply to the newspaper's May 12 feature story on him in a Community Profile special section. "The city of Fallujah is bad, don't get me wrong, but there is a town well overlooked because of Fallujah, Ar Ramadi, Iraq has seen more U.S. Marines go home with a flag draped over a pine box than Fallujah. The war here is different. Marines in Fulujah are sitting and waiting for the enemy and all the grunts. Infantry Marines are backed by tank battalions and cobras you've seen the news. But for us 90 some Marines in Ramadi, we've got each other and a humvee. We have no backup for 20 to 30 minutes if called in, but by then, the firefight is over."

This seems to confirm the validity of the Iraqi resistance reports.

If the reports are true, even only partially, photographs of Usans casualties are indeed badly needed. If the Iraqi resistance have them, it's very bad news for the Bush administration and the Pentagon.

Eleven US troops found with throats slit in central al-Qaim Friday.
iraqwar.mirror-world.ru...
Residents of the town of al-Qaim on the border with Syria awoke on Friday to find the bodies of 11 US aggressor troops, one of them a captain lying in the center of town. All had been butchered according to a report filed by a correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. Residents of the town told the correspondent that a car coming from the area of ar-Rummanah dumped the bodies in the town center and then took off to the west.

US forces then closed off al-Qaim, a small town, but did not immediately retrieve the bodies out of fear that they might have been booby trapped or might be bait for an ambush. The Americans called in a helicopter that carried a steel cage. The bodies were transferred to the cage using devices operated by the crew aboard the helicopter and they were then taken to the US base in al-Qaim.

An American patrol was attacked at dawn yesterday in the ar-Rummanah area, leaving two Humvees and an amphibious armored vehicle destroyed. The latter vehicle is used under special circumstances by the Americans. The residents of ar-Rummanah had no information on the number of dead or wounded Americans since more US forces came after the battle and any dead and wounded were taken away.
