Let's face it, our oceans are dying a certain death if we do not make changes very soon, Problems such as pollution, global warming, overfishing and not enough plankton to support the food chain are just some of the issues affecting our waters on this planet. You mean what can we do to make sure we can keep exploiting it? The ocean will be fine and after humans are gone it will regenerate. The only issue with the ocean is how we are damaging it for our future use. We wreck it we can't use it but the earth and oceans have seen far worse than anything us little humans can throw at it.
