VIRCATOR EMB - Horrifying Vision?

Has anyone read the newly-released THE CHRISTMAS STRIKE by Stephan Zimmermann (www.lulu.com)? While presented as fiction, it seems to provide an authoritative inside look at a potential new terrorist threat through the use of a non-nuclear VIRCATOR electromagnetic bomb (EMB)Worse, it poses the possibility of launching this weapon from within the US from an altitude easily reachable by private jet, with its effects occurring at the speed of light upon detonation, so not detectable by conventional electronic surveillance.

Would be interested in knowing whether anyone is familiar with EMBs, whether the government is supressing this info, etc. Thanks!
