President Obama heckled about Bradley Manning at S.F. fundraiser

As President Obama addressed the crowd at a breakfast fundraiser in San Francisco Thursday, he fielded some audience input that he wasn't bargaining for.

A woman in the crowd suddenly rose from her seat and said: "Mr. President, we wrote you a song," according to the White House pool report. The president attempted to quiet her, but the woman and her table of donors at the St. Regis Hotel breakfast broke into song and raised signs that read "Free Bradley Manning"--the Army intelligence specialist accused of releasing diplomatic cables to WikiLeaks. Yesterday, it was reported that Manning had been moved to a less restrictive prison following pressure from human rights groups.

The protesters said they had spent $5,000 donating to Obama. "We'll vote for you in 2012, yes that's true. Look at the Republicans--what else can we do?" they reportedly chanted.

"We paid our dues. Where's our change?" they sang.

Good on these people, I just wish that the government would pay a little more attention to what they were saying, because if they do not, more people are going to be saying it to them, and it is not going to be by singing.

I think it is funny that all he could say after it was "you guys had good voices."

Stop torturing people. Something that you promised would stop.

The treatment of Brad Manning is very cruel. If I remember right isn't he in solitary for 23 hours a day and has to sleep naked?

I thought I saw that somewhere? I'm not claiming it as fact.

In my opinion Bradley should be taking a dirt nap about now any way. But, interesting that our pretender in chief joked about it. I doubt he really takes anything but his ratings, or lack of winning polls. $5,000 a plate, hmmmm, I'm guessing those aren[t the unemployed he's screwing with high gas prices, rampant unemployment, and bail outs for his buddies.

Me too. I'm quite surprised he is not dead yet, I thought they would have killed by now and blamed it on him choking on his food. They killed JFK out in the open, why not him in another country?

USMB Fort Leavenworth...less restrictive? It houses murderers, rapists and other assorted wacko's in it's maximum security wing. It also has a death row and medium and minimum security wings.

Guess which one Manning will be held in? He may wish he was back in Quantico.

Is torture like going to say SERE school and getting your ass kicked by your own people and getting waterboarded and stuff like that? Or is torture like listening to an Obama or McCain speech without the benefit of being reallly drunk or stoned? Or is torture like sitting there at your taxpayer supplied information terminal and downloading information your not entitled to while your pretending to be listening to, what was it, "Lady GaGa" and sweating the fact how famous your going to be when they let you out of prison, in a minimum of 10 years!
I would have to say that Manning is going to just keep on torturing us like Lindsay Lohan does, or Code Pink, or Wolfe Blitzer, or John Boehner or PETA or the NRA or any other wastes of space you care to name, day after day, month after month, year after year, decade after decade. Yep, thats how they wear ya down, NOT !! Anyway, Bradley is going to have plenty of time to think about it, yes sir, plenty of time! Hey, got a great idea! Maybe Brad and Julian could share a cell and keep each other company. It would save the taxpayers alot of money, I mean, after all the legal costs they're gonna make the US taxpayers cough up!
