Did you guys see Barak Obama bring the house down at the DNC? That was definately the best speech so far. I feel sorry for anyone who has to go after him.

Obama's an amazing speaker and definately presidential material.

EDWARDS/OBAMA 2012!!!

I'm searching for the transcript to hit the web asap.

Ron Reagen sticking it to the man now by the way.

Anyone saying there's no difference in these parties must be watching a StarGate rerun. Shame on them.

I definately agree with that. If you think there's no difference between the parties, and it doesn't matter who wins.....you're just lost.

I've been watching CNN and I've noticed how after every speech Wolf "Media Whore" Blitzer and Judy Woodruff have to chop away at the dems and defend the president. They sit there with straight faces and pretend like they're giving objective analysis, then they bring in this smarmy little Tucker Carlson. Who, by the way just trashed Ron Regan Jr. and defended the anti-stem cell research position. How the hell can you justify the right's position on stem cell research?! It's basically condeming people to death, or worse.

PS- Edwards/Obama 2012 indeed..

I have to agree the kid blew me away! Can you say first black president.

I have to assume that if he is half as sincere as his writers make him out to be he's a hell of a guy.

Damn good speech. the Ron Reagan speech was good to, it was funnier on Fox news though as they kept popping facts up under Ron such as "Dropped out of Yale to pursue Ballet" and "Occasionally hosts on Animal Planet".

Those are just two, yes they're facts but come on...sorry, sorry getting off topic.

Obama was fantastic.

Both parties want a larger, stronger federal government. The power will have to come from somewhere. That's all I have to say.

He was INCREDIBLE...but I gotta say...for all the grief Ms. Heinz Kerry has taken...she ROCKED. WOW!!! I'm enthused and hopeful again. If they'd have 5 times longer for her speech she could have delivered it in all 5 languages she speaks. What a night. And I'm not even a democrat.

CNN Coverage: Obama: The Audacity of Hope

Partial:

"Now even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us, the spin masters and negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes," Obama said.

"Well, I say to them tonight, there is not a liberal America and a conservative America -- there is the United States of America.

"There is not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America -- there is the United States of America," Obama said.

[Insert CNN omitted rant about the media pundits, dividing the nation further as red states and blue states. And Obama saying we worship an awesome God in the Blue states too. And we don't like the Feds checking our library records in the red states either. And we may coach little league in blue states. And we have gay friends in those red states as well...]

Obama spoke of the hope of America as the hope of slaves singing freedom songs, the hope of immigrants, and "the hope of a skinny kid with a funny name who believes that America has a place for him too. Hope in the face of difficulty, hope in the face of uncertainty, the audacity of hope."

And yes Losonczy, Teresa made me proud too.
She's brilliant.

I didn't see Obama's speech, but after reading it, all I have to say is WOW! That is so incredibly inspiring and beautiful.

Just watched the speech on the CSPAN website - very good.

This guy is going to win the Illinois senate seat in a landslide. He's well-polished, articulate, and can connect with people. He's got a nice resume too. Good luck to him!

But shouldn't we vote for the guy who's wife was on Star Trek Voyager?

Isnt he pretty much running unopposed? I would hope he would win in a landslide if noone is running against him

The Reps will probably throw up a token candidate.

That stuff about Ditka sure was a hoot. A couple of weeks back, I was in Chicago on business & caught one of their morning radio shows. The hosts were talking about a Ditka/Obama contest and about how entertaining it would be when they "da-bate"

If Ditka had run against Obama, I bet he would have won. For no better reason than that he's a sports figure. Sad really...I guess it's the Arnold syndrome.

I heard rumors that they were going to run Ted Nugent, but I guess they thought better of it.
