This is an independent movie being made in the UK, written and directed by a h00j Halo fan and friend of mine. They have just released their first vid
via Machinima (who are to distribute the movie):
So yeah, hope this is of interest to Halo fans here
Pretty cool, I’ve seen a trailer that was supposedly used to sell the idea of a HALO movie. I thought it remained true to the game play script. I
don’t know if someone bought it out or not though. Hollywood best get off their duff though before HALO is all played out. A franchise only lasts so
long before it gets replaced. (With the exception of the Star Trek and SG franchises, but even they too get cancelled. I think Battlefield LA was a
test run to see if maybe a HALO movie is financially feasible.
It always boils down to profits after all. I wish these guys luck.
I'm not familiar with that story (re: big-budget Halo movie) but I'd be VERY surprised that a franchise so successful hasn't had people in the
industry at least trying to get a pitch in for a big-screen version. Spot-on about franchise aging: partly the reason, I think, that game-movies often
come out and are either mundane or just terrible - probably assembled so hastily to cash-in on the popularity before that franchise/brand goes out of
vogue.
Google HALO Trailer in the videos tab. It's pretty cool. There are a few independently made, some meh, but some quite good. The one I’m talking
about shows a pretty awesome combat scenario. Great CGI as well.
There was a time where they were starting to work on a Halo movie. They even had Peter Jackson set to produce it. Sadly, Universal and Fox decided not
to fund the project and has been officially dead since 2007.
Here is another awesome halo video, I am a massive halo fan and have played through every halo game on legendary ( apart from halo wars - the C&C
style halo game. )
Anywhoos here is the video for - The Birth Of A Spartan
I'd love to see a live action film come to fruition. I think it would appeal to a wider range of audiences other then just the gamer market. My
husband is not a gamer at all but a huge Sci-Fi type and has enjoyed reading my Halo books.
