Hello all, I just wanted to post a short introduction. I've lurked here on ATS for about 2 months now, and I'm throughly addicted. I'm eager to start joining the conversations.

I've lived in the state of West Virgina all my life, and I grew up hearing stories of Mothman and the Flatwoods monster. I always thought these tales were fascinating, and I suppose you could say they pushed me to explore other topics like UFO and other cryptoids, from a very early age. In a way, over the years, its become a hobby. I like casually researching ancient cultures, their beliefs, and what they knew of the cosmos. I also enjoy amateur astronomy, and I recently bought a 8" Dob, but I'm pretty new to the "art". I'm very much still learning.

What drew me to ATS is the community! Most of you are smart, independent thinkers who truly have some fascinating ideas. Its refreshing to see people with critical thinking skills. My favorite forums so far are Aliens and UFOs, Space Exploration, and Philosophy and Metaphysics. I poke around 2012 and Chemtrails, but I'm more skeptical of these issues. Perhaps youll see me posting in these forums in the future.

Thanks for reading! I leave you with a beautiful picture taken in my home state. Enjoy!

P.S. ATS hates Flikr. Boo.

Welcome ProjectBlue.
You've joined for the same reasons I did, I'm also into Astronomy with a 6" Newtonian Reflector.
Hope you have fun and a word of advice from a newbie myself - some of the members don't suffer fools gladly - put some thought into your posts and you'll be fine

Welcome! I'm certainly not one of the more well-known ATS folks on here but I am also addicted. I just became addicted a few years earlier
. I've met alot of great folks on here and had some awesome, really thought provoking discussions/debates.

One thing about ATS is that it seems alot of what happens in the world is always discussed here first.
Probably because free and open discussion is what ATS is all about.

On the mothman thing, I have something for you to check out!

Haha. To me, that is one of the best things about the members of ATS, they don't like foolishness. As the motto goes "Deny ignorance."

Yes this was an HDR photo. =)

Thanks for the welcome. =D

Thank you for the welcome. That article was very chilling. Thanks for sharing. I watched a documentary the other day called "The Eyes of the Mothman". It was pretty well done in my opinion. Check it out.
