Some days ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to smoke a cigarette. While the lighter was lit, I could see around the flame a yellow halo within a red one followed by a thin and distinct layer of green and red light. I said to myself that seeing so many colors was probably the result of dust in the eyes or something else but yesterday, in daylight, while watching one of my hands, I saw that it was surrounded by approximately two inches of green light followed by a thin layer of pale blue light so my question is: if this phenomenon can be associated with eyes dysfunction, what is the scientific name of this anomaly?

Possibly impurities in the butane giving off a different wavelengths of light as they burn.

You probably did some spectroscopy in high school, burning different materials over the Bunsen burner and watching the flame change colors, this could be a similar sort of thing, but much more noticeable in low light and further out from the source where the bright yellow doesn't mask so much of the color.

The aura is a possibility but I guess that it can also probably be related to an health problem.
Btw, your immature tone doesn't make me feel better.

Isn't tetrahydrocannabinol supposed to be good for the eyes?

Sorry D1ss1dent, but
a. my tone wasn't meant to make you feel better.
b. my tone was used in the hope you may, in future, investigate via the magical www to research your symptom(s).
Ultimately having you post a thread like:
"This happened -
I think it might be medical term here
Has anyone have any experience with medical term here?
What have you taken to cure this?"

That said, I do hope it could be seeing Auras.

peace

If my curiosity offended you, I'm sorry. I've searched on the web if a scientific name can be associated to this dysfunction, if dysfunction there is, and found nothing.

Marijuana is Spanish for "Maryjane" ( Mexican slang term for cannabis ). It's reference to cannabis sativa and indica was created by the U.S. Government ( in Congress ), to make "Hemp" ( cannabis.. ) illegal. Overnight the thousands upon thousands of years old Hemp Industry, found that in the United States of America.... it... oh sorry! Maryjane... was made illegal.

Such was the "Science" of the 1930s in the USA..... in the name of what?
Some conspiracy?

Maybe this temporary symptom (or faculty) is because of Marie-Jeanne. I don't exclude the possibility.

Don't worry man... have some patience. Many people see "auras" and always have.... As well... some catch glimpses of seeing this now and then, rather than always having the ability. It's been like this throughout history.... for all we know, NOT seeing Aura's might be unnatural rather than normal... Maybe seeing them, and the ability, is part of our natural abilities.,

But you are not alone... and you're not the first. I wouldn't think of what you described as a "dysfunction" at all. Beware though... People used to burn people at the stake for less... and there's plenty of people who are still like that. lol

The most common reaction I noticed when talking about aura, energetic manipulation, non-atha yoga, mudras, telepathy, precognition, etc. was anger... We live in a strange world.... I guess the best is to remain silent.
