I have an Afghanistan "fact" but no link to back it up . I believe i read it on Globalsecurity . Fuel going to A-Stan is shipped by tanker , then pumped off , then into tanker trucks and convoyed to main bases , then trucked to forward bases and much of it gets flown by helicopter out in the field . Gasoline , diesel fuel and aviation fuel . It works out to $500.00 per gallon and that's just fuel , not bullets or food or boot laces . $500.00 per gallon .
