I don't understand something. Why does spyware still exist? I understand viri, worms, and the destructive programs, but not spyware. Its easy to track who's behind the spyware. Its really simple to see who owns the domains of the ads, and if its big companies, you can subpoena the names and addresses of the affiliates who get the checks.

The government doesn't care. I know that much. But why? Just because spyware helps big business, and hurts the little guy? After all, who cares about the little guy? Its not like we can vote, or work the crappy jobs, or fight for the country or anything. Oh wait... that IS what its like.

I know, spyware isn't a "big issue," but it really pisses me off! Its a daily inconvience for me to run anti-spyware programs, which only temporarily remove the latest spyware.

lol @ big business... I've always believed that Symantec was behind the majority of viruses being released today, and have been for quite a number of years. Look how much money is tied up in anti-virus software? I'll give you a hint; it's more than $1.50.

heh, who knows. Maybe the government doesn't want to stop spyware because of the enormous amount of data it captures about individuals. Not only is it cheaper to let private businesses make these 'spy programs', the government itself will never be blamed for coming up with such programs. They have the big ones 'on record' like Echelon/Magic Lantern, etc. but under scrutinizing watchdog groups they are extremely limited. Under spyware business A, there would be no big watchdog group... hmmm.

Oh, it is a big issue! I have more problems with spyware than the Chip everyone is discussing. At least with the chip you will know you have it (at least for now the specualtion is that it will be choice).

Spyware goes beyond any of that. It goes on without your knowledge or consent. It can mess up your computer. It is invading my privacy without my permission or knowledge. Aside from spying who knows what else it is doing?

SPYWARE MUST GO!!!!!!!!
