Israel worried by 'weakening' US

It seems Israel is worried by 'weakening' US, meaning US is losing its influence in places such as the Middle East and North Africa.

A senior Israeli officials states that Israel is worried by the perception that

"the US is an "empire of the past" and wants a resurgent America to lead a decisive confrontation with Iran".

This was a long time coming, but I can clearly see US is trying to control the revolutions, will it be possible? It seems not.

US's call to let Mubarak go had two purposes:
#1. To satisfy the protesters demand.
#2. To have a controlled transition, meaning a transition which is directed by the US funded Egyptian military.

Now the Egyptian protesters saw the trickery (if you want to call it that), and are calling for the prosecution of Mubarak and his stooges, and also the removal of military rule (which is allied with Mubarak).

Recently the Egyptian military implemented a law banning public protests, obviously US is silent against the same regime which still controls Egypt, rather trying to focus all the attention towards Libya, the anti-Imperialist regime.

It is sad but true, the blindness towards Yemen, Morocco, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and Egypt continues, in the other hand NATO is killing civilians in the name of protecting civilians in Libya as the Libyan state TV reports

"(NATO) strikes have killed civilians and police south of capital Tripoli, the same day France accused NATO of not doing enough to protect civilians."

How can they justify this hypocrisy and double standards, I don't know. Why the selective intervention? It is beyond me.

Such policies will only harm the US influence in the Middle East and N-Africa even more, because it will inflame the public opinion against the West. These are the basis for the perception that the US is "the empire of the past".

Such policies will bring the Middle East and N-Africa even closer to Iran, as a poll has already proven that

"Anger over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and U.S. policy is tilting public opinion in favor of Tehran and against Washington."

Arabs are already closer with Iran, and see Iran as having more common interests with the Arab world, rather than the West.

What will the destiny of Israel be without the US influence (grip) over the Middle East and N-Africa?
