Hopefully this is not already posted.

Sorry I still am confused in which forum these news go to, but this is a great news for Libya, at least from my perspective. Qaddafi has accepted a ceasefire, now it is up to the rebels to finally end the blood shed in Libya.

South African President Jacob Zuma says embattled Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi has accepted the African Union's roadmap for a ceasefire to end the war in Libya.

The Rebels up to now have rejected any cease fire, unless Qaddafi and his sons leave the country, so it will be interesting to see what will happen with this, I guess it is up to West as it is the West which arms and supports them with air power.

The revolutionaries have so far been against a ceasefire and have continuously called for Gaddafi's ouster, saying negotiations with the government will be held if Gaddafi and his sons quit power and leave the country.

I believe there will be no peace because both the Rebels and Qaddafi are against Western interests. The Rebels are Islamists and Qaddafi is very pissed at West right now, and even once said that he will welcome Chinese and Russia to explore our oil fields.

The divide and conquer of Libya will hopefully stop, this tactic is a tactic which leaves you with sleepless nights.

It will be interesting to see what Qaddafi does now, I do not trust him and I cannot see the rebels accepting a cease fire without Qaddafi and his sons leaving the country. The whole thing is just a "hot-mess".

It will fall in a heap , the rebels should not bit the hand that feeds or Africa as a hole will condem them .The AU will then back up Gadaffii if things grow .

Unless the reason for the rebellion has suddenly changed I don't see how this can be accepted..
Also, Gaddafi would surely go after the leaders of the rebellion..

The reason for rebellion was to bring a representative government, not to topple Qaddafi. If Qaddafi works towards a representative government then the problem can be solved. The West have their agendas, that is my main concern.

The West doesn't want a unity government, because both sides of this civil war are anti Western interest. Qaddafi is angry at the West for taking sides in the civil war, the Rebels are Islamists.

Most reports I've read and even your OP seem to agree that Qaddafi leaving was nonnegotiable..

Qaddafi has a lot of supporters, you can't forget his supporters, that's why I'm talking about a representative government. Both the Rebels and the Qaddafi supporters should be represented in the Government. That's why I fear the Western agenda because they have no one who would do their bidding in Libya, therefore I suspect they wouldn't want the conflict to end.
