I must be the only one here so far who never liked any of the Metal Gear or Final Fantasy games.

Assassin's Creed though, now those are some conspiracy filled games.

Well I'm glad you liked Zelda, because that's not something to miss out on!

You can twist everything to your own hand if you really want to, I personally don't see much in Final Fantasy 7. The only game which had "it" for me was Bioshock 1 & 2.

Zelda and the Dynasty Warriors series, can't get enough of them. Duke Nukem too.

The other Final Fantasy games are OK, but Final Fantasy VII stands out ABOVE the rest. it blows duke nukem and Assassins creed out of the water. If I could suggest any Final Fantasy game, it would be this one.

Yeah I played FF7 back in the day when it first came out, right up until the end credits. Can't say I ever liked it.

Just wasn't a game for me.

I'm doing a play-through of the game right now and was going to do an exact thread like this because I was basically astounded. My only problems with what you say are: 1) Mako seems more to me like nuclear energy rather than oil; and 2) The Cetra were not aliens from ships. There is a very misleading point in the game where the Cetra are said to "settle the planet and move on." It sounds very much like aliens moving from planet to planet consuming natural resources. This is not the case with the Cetra, however. It meant that they were nomads of the planet, settling one area and moving on in search of the promised land.

The reason I think mako is more closely related to nuclear energy is that in the game, the mako reactors are used to give electricity to cities.

Don't forget the fact that Shinra Inc. tries AVALANCHE as terrorists and eventually attempts a public execution on its members (much like where I think we are headed in America with Muslims) when Shinra itself is the cause for its problems.

Seriously though, great game

What about Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64 damn that game was well made astonishing soundtrack perfectly composed and a wicked storyline. As a youth back In the day playing that game I never thought about the real life correlations between the game and the world we know. It is strangly similar to everything you will find in the Grey Area here on ATS. Its a shame everyone I mention this game to has a strong disliking towards it? Perfect Dark is essentially Golden Eye 007 with a more real world twist. RareWare made some very fine games In their time.
