Originally this election was reported as a toss-up with the democrat challenger clinging to a 200 vote lead.

If this holds up, it will serve as the the death knell for democrat hopes to gain a liberal majority in the Wisconsin supreme court. It will also end democrat hopes of being able to "legislate from the bench" as a democrat judge in a lower court is trying to do with the recently passed collective bargaining law.

source

In a political bombshell, the clerk in a Republican stronghold released new vote totals adding a net total of 7,403 new votes in the tight state Supreme Court race to Justice David Prosser, swinging the race significantly in his favor.

The new vote totals would take the race out of the requirement for an automatic recount and force the democrat challenger to pay for a recount herself - if she still wants one.

Wow, 7500 from one county... I smell something strange around this number.

They were neck and neck until this county was counted.

It was "counted" before.

But "somehow" the county clerk "forgot" to report the votes from an entire city that mostly went for Prosser.

Was this county clerk a democrat hoping no one would notice their attempt to change the election results?

That's the really strange question.

Yes, it could be if it holds up.

No. Why would you think so? Read the article.

Yes it would seem that the entire city of Brookfield was not entered into the totals.
Of the roughly 14,000 voters in Brookfield, 7500 went for Prosser.

That is not to surprising to me, since Brookfield is an upscale city, right outside of Milwaukee, meaning, suburbs.

Ahhh.... now I can relax. I love it when the overwhelming force meets the abusive minority unions. This is just what I was saying the other day. If they thought 2010 was bad news for elections, keep going to the streets and 2012 will make 2010 look insignificant by comparison. The people of Wisconsin have spoken.

Yes, they say it was a "clerical error".
My "BS" alarm has just gone off.
I have a message to the unions up there. -- Nice try! --

you know now-a-days,for most jobs, even simple jobs..they want you to jump thru hoops, dancebackwards and be fully trained and experienced. here is a person that obviously should have never gotten the position of county clerk.
from the original article

But Kloppenburg supporters reacted with alarm, pointing out that Nickolaus had worked in the Assembly Republican caucus during the time that Prosser, a former Republican lawmaker, served as the Assembly speaker and that Nickolaus also had faced questions about her handling of elections as clerk.

sound like she has made mistakes before
and ..i guess sorta worked for the republician candidate before..

and from the original article

Nickolaus explained that when she got Brookfield's results the second time in the correct format, she failed to save it. So when she totaled the results for the unofficial final report Tuesday, Brookfield's total was not included and she didn't realize it.

what?!
and the first time results were sent to her were in the right format..she wanted them a second time because, basically, she wanted it her way..gunna have to read below

then we have this from a different article..

Questions were immediately raised about the new announcement. As Schneider wrote, prior to the election, Nickolaus "was heavily criticized for her decision to keep the county results on an antiquated personal computer, rather than upgrade to a new data system being utilized statewide."

Added Schneider: "Nickolaus cited security concerns for keeping the data herself -- yet when she reported the data, it did not include the City of Brookfield, whose residents cast nearly 14,000 votes."

ahh, what..she kept vote tallys on her PERSONAL computer?!?
and in an old format, seemigly not used anymore..and then forgot to save the info...
sourse

just another example of election officials, and i use that term in the loooooosest way possible, have thier own agendas.......i hear D. Trump might run for president....

This is strange, except in the opposite way you were hoping.

For 13 years, Nickolaus worked for the Wisconsin State Assembly Republican Caucus as a data analyst and computer specialist. She resigned in May 2002. [AP, 6/3/02] From 1989-1994, Prosser served as Minority Leader. From 1995-1996, he was Speaker. Nickolaus was a staff member during this time. As Wisconsin State Journal reporter Mary Spicuzza noted on Twitter, "Kathy Nickolaus worked for Assembly Republican Caucus when Prosser was Speaker. Caucus is controlled by speaker, so he is her former boss."

The Waukesha County Board also heavily criticized the clerk after she brushed aside their recommendations for improving election security. At one point during a hearing in January, board chairman Jim Dwyer grew exasperated with Nickolaus and said, "There really is nothing funny about this, Kathy. Don't sit there and grin when I'm explaining what this is about."

So basically she has been involved with the Rep Caucus for 13 yrs, Prosser was her boss for awhile, she was criticized for her handling of election tabulation ( personal computer, old software not compatible with current standards) and heres the real kicker,

The new Supreme Court race vote totals she “discovered” during canvassing not only swung the election but also put the race just barely past the amount needed to trigger a state-financed recount.

It is especially troubling that she waited more than 24 hours to report the startling discovery and then did so at a press conference and only after she verified the results. This makes it all the harder to challenge and audit the integrity of the vote.
.

She alone verified the votes after she found her "mistake", which happens to bring the total just high enough that the Dem will have to personally pay for a recount.

You are correct, this is very strange...............

I hope your BS alarm doesn't have a partisan snooze button and your still outraged even though it appears, if there is any conspiracy here, it's Rep related.

Hmmmm crickets......

Come on guys lets keep this going. Aren't you still outraged over the possibility of vote tampering? Why has your enthusiasm faded? Let's get to the bottom of this conspiracy......dig up some dirt on County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus. Otherwise this thread will be viewed as being hypocritical with a splash of irony.
