I thought that my house is haunted too. A cousin from Louisiana thinks that these "spirits" somehow follow me. I told her a few things that really happened to me so that is why she thinks that I am "haunted". Not in the traditional sense, but that I have spirits connected to me somehow.

-When I was 8 years old, our house burned down. Everyone else had gotten out of the house and for whatever reason forgot me. I was awakened by a voice screaming at me to wake up. When I woke, everything in the room was on fire including the ceiling above my bed. I started screaming and my dad came back to get me. Luckily there was a window beside the bed.
-A few years later, I had come home from a basketball game and dance at school. It was @11:00. I went to bed and had the strangest dream. I was in a church with my brothers and sisters. There was a powder blue casket behind the pulpit. I couldn't understand what anyone said but it was really weird. The next day, my mother died.
-There have been 2 instances where I was supposed to go somewhere and couldn't at the last minute only to find out later that the people I was supposed to go with were in a fatal accident.
-My husband and I have lived in 4 different places over the years and I have told him about lights turning on and off. Hearing someone walk up behind me and finding no one there when I turn around.
He never believed me until 5 years ago his sister was in the hospital. The doctors told us that she could die at any time. We all went to see her. My children had become tired so I left to take them back to the house. My husband and his parents were all asleep (@6:00 a.m.) when he heard a voice call out to him. He said it sounded like his favorite Aunt that had died 6 years before. She said "Junebug, wake up. Wake up now." He opened his eyes to find his sister staring at him. She smiled and inhaled then she was gone.
- When we bought our house we live in now, the weird things started immediately. One day I was in the bathroom. No one was at home. Kids in school hubby at work. I heard what sounded like someone walking in my bedroom. I looked at the door and the knob turned. The door opened maybe 2-3 inches then closed. There are two closets in the hallway and one in the main bathroom. You close them and the next time you pass, they are open. Same with the pantry door.
I have told people about these things and they say that they would leave. I know that won't help because whatever it is, apparently follows me.

Oh, I believe people can be "haunted" and that the ghosts follow you from place to place. My thought is that some people are just more sensitive to ghosts and more likely to realize that they're around. When the ghost realize that there is someone who picks up on their existence they're more likely to stick around that person so they can communicate in any way they can. I believe since I have been living in this place with my ghost I have become more open to the idea and maybe more sensitive. I have had some odd things happen while traveling that make me wonder if my new openness has made me more likely to experience paranormal phenomena.
