I tried the first two Wave files last night. I'm hooked, better than anything I've ever tried. I tried opening the manual, but it says the link isn't valid. I was wondering how many times each file should be listened to before going on to the next one, or can you listen to each one once and move on?

When I get to a certain point, I also have trouble breathing and I start panicking. I guess I'm not relaxed enough.

Between the book and the wave files... I should learn something. :-)

Thanks to everyone who is contributing.

What are these Hemi Sync Wavs supposed to do? Do they just relax you?

I'm glad you like them.I found them to be an enlightening experience.
Move along at your own pace when you feel you have a handle on one move onto the next one.
Try not to rush it, you will enjoy them more.

Hemi sync is a patented technique that not only relaxes you, but synchronizes both the left and right hemispheres of the brain for optimum functioning. I recommend reading about Monroe and the Hemi sync process to get a better understanding of it.
The link I provided you with is the complete "gateway" experience, Monroe created to expand conscious awareness, taking the student into a whole new realm of consciousness. It is valued at several thousands of dollars if you where to purchase them.

Try the first one, the orientation, it will explain the process.
You will need to listen to them with headphones.
Good luck & enjoy your journey.

'___', my first experience I had a OBE, sure you could chop it up to a trip, but I swear to you I was able to walk through my door and make out my surroundings perfectly and in every detail.

I have had OBE on a few occasions, but I have only tried astral projection once. I made my attempt through a a ritual from a book I was reading on wiccan magick. I was going through a period of dabbling with the occult, trying experiments on cause and effect, basically to try to give myself some definite proof on whether there was a spiritual world, I believed there was but wanted personal empirical proof, after mixed results, some very successful but still could be put down to a set of "remarkable" coincidences, my feeling was to try astral projection, if that succeeded would be all the proof I needed (for me personally, I don't need to prove to others, it is for each to take their own journey)

Anyway, I completed the ritual which included taking a cleansing bath, building a circle, and then laying down and recanting a spell, all the time focusing on relaxing the body in stages. The ritual worked very well and achieved the desired result, I felt myself, my soul rush towards the ceiling, at this point I must admit I totally crapped my pants, lost my concentration and quickly returned to my body.

The whole experience freaked me a little and I never felt the urge to retry the ritual, having said that it answered the question I had, which was does the body have a soul, does the soul survive the death of the body which it does. I have had a couple of OBE;s since one directed one a natural occurring event.

Just my experience thought would share

My first tip is: don't try to Astral project while laying in your bed. Plain and simple. Its possible, but so much more difficult. Why? Well, what do you have a bed in your house for anyway? Sleep. We are conditioned that our beds are for sleeping. So, when you get to that peaceful mind awake-body asleep state, you're going to lose it and just fall asleep. Try using a chair, with arms, use a recliner without putting the leg rest up.

Second tip: prepare yourself for this. Do you like asparagus? Eat it. Lots of it. Change your sleep pattern. Sleep no more than 3 hours at a time. Sleep 3 hours at "bed time" and if you have time in your schedule, a 3 hour nap in the afternoon. It takes some adjusting, but it keeps your mind in a better state for AP and other related experiences.

Third tip: keep a dream journal. Sounds slightly crazy, at first, but trust me. We dream, everyone, every night. How many times do you remember your dreams? I don't remember very many at all, anymore, but when I was heavy into AP I remembered several dreams a night. Keeping a dream journal encourages you to remember what happens. Condition yourself to write down your dreams when you wake up. Eventually, this will trigger your brain to remember more details and hold on to them longer. This is extremely beneficial, because 9 times out of 10 (unless you are a really experienced AP'er you will lose fragments on memory transfer). Conditioning your brain to remember what happens is key in remembering your APs/OBEs.

Fourth tip: absolutely bury yourself in AP reading. We dream about things that are stuck in our heads often. Thinking about AP, reading about AP, reading others' experiences are great dream programming. Before attempting AP, tell yourself you are going to have an OBE (over and over and over). Tell yourself what triggers you are going to recognize, and you will. For instance, my first AP: I told myself I would see my body surrounded by blue electric arcs in a dream and that would tell me I was dreaming. At that point I would become lucid and project from the dream state. (I had problems not falling asleep at first and my first few OBEs were from the dream state.) Telling myself this actually paid off quite well (the first night) and I had 3 amazing OBEs.

Fifth tip: don't be afraid. Astral noise can be confusing, disorienting, and scary. But relax, because the fact that you may hear disembodied voices, although scary, is simply your consciousness being focused on a different vibrational level. You may hear strange noises that aren't really even strange at all, when broke down. I can't count the number of times I would be sitting there/laying there and hearing a strong gurgling sound or the sound of wind rushing all over me. What did I hear? Well, it took some figuring out, but I was actually already Astrally conscious and my Astral body was laying right in my physical body. I was hearing my stomach gurgling and my body breathing. When I figured this out, I laughed so hard that I actually snapped back to my physical body.

That leads me to my next tip. number 6: emotions are your enemy in AP. Strong emotions will snap you back faster than a fat kid eats cake. Scared, humored, excited...all the absolute greatest guarantee for a quickly ended jaunt into the Astral plane. This is both a hindrance and a blessing, in the early stages. Starting out, start small. Take in as much as possible, but don't stay out long. The more you overload your memory with, the less you will remember when you wake up and this is very discouraging. So when you start out and you first learn how to fly or walk through walls or make up some crazy contraption...you're going to get excited. This will end your AP very quickly, but you will remember everything! Eventually, your memory tolerance will expand and you may remember copious amounts of time from your adventures. In 6 months, I would say I was able to remember enough to encompass a 20 minute story (telling it to someone else). But when I first started, 2 minutes was a stretch.

I have tons more info and dozens of good AP stories that I would be more than willing to share, but I need to go eat lunch. Keep the thread going and I'll be sure to jump back in.

Have you tried listening to the Hemi Sync files yet? I'm on Wave 1 - Discovery 4 - Release and Recharge. My vibrations are getting stronger and more controlled. The other night during one of the Discovery ones, I could feel the energy moving between my feet, back and forth, as well as around my whole body. I'm not APing yet, but can tell my body is learning something new, esp my mind. Getting it to quiet down is becoming easier.

For now, yes. Once I have a chance to try without anyone else in the house, I'll listen to them sitting in a chair. It will probably work even better. I tend to get to relaxed in the middle of the second file and I'm not getting as much benefit from it. The next night, I start on the one I missed things with and get it. Listening to them more than once seems to be helping me. Like gatewaywithin said, do what you feel comfortable with.

I think this is what I read and why I said I'll try sitting in a chair when I can. The bed is comfortable but definitely to comfortable for me. lol

I've been able to stay asleep before. I read some methods to staying asleep in the dream world. Some of them were screaming and spinning around. I did both at the same time and slept for like another 2 hours. Is this a good stepping stone, having control of my dreams?

i had a few OBE when i was a child, they were quite, spontaneous. and my last 2 were extremely scary to me, i felt the urge to leave my body forever, I was becoming separated from his wold or reality too much, and i sensed the danger of slipping out before my time.

Alot of people experience this same feeling. The best advice i can give you is become a "daydreamer" this is why children have a higher chance of experiencing this over adults. just sit bak close your eyes, meditate and fall into a fantasy about where you want to go who you want to visit, and what you want to see. If you were a "day dreamer" as a child, always living in your own wold, and having trouble with the real one, chances are you have already had this experience and know what im talking about. If you were not, then start learning how, but understand there is risks and dangers, just the same with anything to expand your mind.

so yuh, just it back and daydream about what you want and it will manifest one day on you and wont just be a day dream.

Vlena, I love your post and agree completely. Also, you just cleared up everything that I'm going through with those words. I know you never expected to help someone that much just by saying those things, but I want you to know that you did. I've been searching for someone for a long time and I think you just helped me understand how to open a window. I just have to relax and do what comes natural now. Thank you.
