What the heck is this?

I woke up this morning with this mark on my right hand middle finger. I know for sure it wasn't there when I went to sleep.

I live alone and the door was locked, and no one else has a key, so I don't think it was a prank pulled by someone else.

I'm pretty sure I had some intense dreams last night but I couldn't recall what they were about when I woke up, but I would say there was one unusual feature right when I woke up, I heard what I can only describe as a loud "Gong" sound, a resonant metallic "Thud" noise. I didn't notice the mark on my finger until I got up and got some coffee and started reading my morning news websites. The thing that struck me was not just the mark, but that the mark seems to be continuous yet changes color several times. It starts as a blue line, then changes to red, then light blue, then purple, then greenish-blue, then blue again. There's also a small smudge of blue off and to the right of the line. If it weren't for the weird colors I probably would have written it off.

Anyone have any experience with something like this? I'm at a loss.

Don't worry about it.. It was probably just a new recruit in an alien race probing his first human Just that he did it wrong Well i would say that it was a marker of some sort but since it changes color... I have no idea... Try washing your hands, see what happens...

It could be a spider bite and probably a bad one judging by the colors.

Most of the "answers" you'll get around here would probably have more sarcasm than truth to them.

that was my initial thought, that maybe i'd touched an inkjet cartridge...i don't own an inkjet printer but i do work at a computer service store, but we don't really service or handle printers, and i definitely hadn't touched anything from an inkjet printer in weeks.

Oh my god, we are hand twins!

Except i dont have that peculiar mark. Very strange

I think you either were scratched messing with a printer or you fell asleep with an open pen in your bed.

LOL yeah i hope not. I'm all for meeting an alien visitor, just not being probed without my knowledge. I forgot to add that I had washed my hands once this morning, I just did again and it didn't go away so whatever "ink" it is isn't water soluble.

99% of the times the probable cause while sleeping or napping is a spider or centipede bit. Both can be nasty.

Whatever it is ... it's pretty!

Spider/centipede bite, alien marking, or printer cartridge. Good suggestions...guess I'll wait and watch for swelling/redness, further nighttime odd happenings, or a quick fade over the next day or two.

Dip a q-tip in bleach and rub it. If it comes off easily, it's probably ink. If you don't have bleach, try Dawn, it takes ink off pretty well.

I have recently had my 3rd GONG noise awaken... i dont know what it was but i am also for sure i was in a pretty deep sleep. i dont have any marks on me...
