To begin the NACA stands for the National Advisory Committe for Aeronautics. I searched for the National Agency of Civil Aeronautics and it didn't
bring anything up. Otherwise yes the NACA did was dissolved and turned into NASA but the NACA also developed rocket technology. For example the Bell
X-1, which was a rocket plane.
Yes I am also aware of the research that NASA does on non-rocket aeronautics. NASA and DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) have been and
are involved in quite a few projects together.
