Are the lying about danger in Japan?

Just how bad is it in Japan? I found this little PDF apparently from an engineer from Japan. We know the media will probably not tell us the real story. So do we have any nuclear experts here at ATS that care to give their opinions on what they think may happen with the reactors in Japan?

I think if i lived in Japan i would be on the first boat/plane off that island!

I hope I'm wrong

but Japanese can become rare people in the near future if this al will explode

I'll repost my OP from my most recent thread... it might help put things into perspective... The MSM or TV may only be talking about radiation and the reactors etc but dont forget about the actual problems they are faced with and are dealing with......

Japan quake dead and missing over 28,000

The number of confirmed dead and people listed as missing from the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan's northeast coast has topped 28,000, the National Police Agency says.

The agency -- which collects data from the prefectures affected -- said on Monday that 10,901 had been confirmed dead and 17,649 listed as missing as of 5pm (AEDT) as a result of the March 11 catastrophe.

The quake has become Japan's deadliest natural disaster since the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake, which killed more than 142,000 people.

More obstacles impede crews in Japan

Mounting problems, including badly miscalculated radiation figures and inadequate storage tanks for huge amounts of contaminated water, stymied emergency workers Sunday as they struggled to nudge Japan's stricken nuclear complex back from the edge of disaster.

Workers are attempting to remove the radioactive water from the tsunami-ravaged nuclear compound and restart the regular cooling systems for the dangerously hot fuel.

The day began with company officials reporting that radiation in leaking water in the Unit 2 reactor was 10 million times above normal, a spike that forced employees to flee the unit. The day ended with officials saying the huge figure had been miscalculated and offering apologies.

'The number is not credible,' said Tokyo Electric Power Co. spokesman Takashi Kurita. 'We are very sorry.'

Please try to remember that the Nuclear disaster is not the only problem they have in Japan



I only wanted to bring this to your attention and to this thread because everyone seems to be focusing on the radiation issue now, including many MSM outlets on TV.

People seem to forget that many people cannot even escape the radiation as their villages and towns are cut off. They have no food or water, or what they do have is barely enough.....

Thank you for your input.Yes I know the radiation is not the only problem, but IMO I think the people of Japan should be taken off the island asap, why have anymore unwarrented death or sickness.The solution to the reactors IMO is to do the same as Chernobyl,encase it in cement. If Japan gets another quake this week with all the solar activity happening, what will be left to save?

I think the problems have become so big and widespread that they just dont have the resouces to deal with it. Although they were an economic superpower in many ways and a well run government. They were never prepared for this scale of a disaster. Earthquake, Tsunami ( Massive scale ) and now radiation.

It is a small country with massive population density. The amount of problems they face is.... well there are no words for it!


I just wanna post another reply i posted in my thread. I wont post thread links though as im not trying to get publicity or hi-jack your thread, but the growing disaster for survivors is almost impossible to comprehend....

I just get annoyed at MSM ( TV ) that now they wont even mention it, the death toll and missing. All the survivors and the fact they have nowhere to go or barley any supplies in many towns and villages that were hardest hit by the Tsunami.

It's not only the deathtoll and missing that are the issue but the survivors in the Towns, Cities and Prefectures that are suffering immensly.

Barely any food or supplies, no gas or petrol for their vehicles ( the ones that werent damaged by the Tsunami )

Please remember it is winter in Japan and many people no longer have a home to goto or even an evacuation centre.

How long will it be before any of the survivors can have a life similar to before the Tsunami. Homes, Jobs, Schools and Infrastrucure and all of this not in just one place but over such a large scale, The Japanese government cannot be held accountable in many ways for a disaster of this scale. Not only do they have to deal with search / recovery and rescue but also clean up, the radiation issues and almost millions of displaced people....

Yes I agree the problems there are un-imagineable, we should be doing a lot more to help these people now. Instead of funnelling all the money to war, how about a major humanitarian effort to get those people to safer ground?
TPTB do not want to help, look at Haiti,even Katrina for example. I guess if there is no money to be made then to hell with us.
