They just said on CNN that the Japanese Meteorological Society is the one that issued the tsunami advisory. They did say that there is no threat to Hawaii or anywhere else. Only local.

They don't sound too worried on twitter in Japan. I did also notice that they are getting closer to the surface.

Lets not all forget the difference between an advisory and a warning. Advisory meaning that a tsunami could occur where as a warning menas it has been spotted and is coming. A tsunami advisory is pretty standard after a 6 + quack.

From a 6.5???

A 6 point 5

The NOAA does not just issue warning for the US. it issues warning for the whole pacific!!

CNN have obviously yet to catch up!!

According to the legend at the bottom of the map, in yellow means advisory not warning there is a difference.

Good that it was a small one - I was worried even more this time because
the sea is contaminated.

Yes by all meaans they must check out the place for sea water contamination of the land from the tsunami......The chances of contamination may be small, or not.....But if this keeps up there could be serious consequences from sea water contaminating even more land than the nuke plants.
