I consider myself pretty informed about current issues here stateside and worldwide. Everyone is aware of Libya, Egypt and general unrest in the Middle East. However, when looking at the entire area it puts it in a whole new perspective. I wasn't aware how big the scope of it really was. This interactive map really does a good job of showing a progression of events in the Middle East. For me at least, some interesting connections were made.

Excellent find !!! I have not seen the ME unrest in this format anywhere so far, and it really puts it all into perspective.

A horrifying, uneasy perspective.

Possibilities Ive drawn from the map.

Tunisia and Egypt border Libya. If the UN gets rid of Gaddafi its the start of a potential bigger country. With both states leaderless at the moment and Africa's penchant for new countries I see a possibility of these merging, perhaps under the Muslim Brotherhood.

Alot of unrest about food prices. Strange this doesn't get as much attention in the media.

Much bigger area affected by the unrest than I previously thought. Media isn't doing a good job of reporting this, or are unable to cover all the stories. I was very aware of some of these but big events happening in other countries barely get a mention in the media.

Directly to the North all the financial issues happening. What is it about this region? Yeah there's problems worldwide, but almost every country around the Mediterranean Sea?

French and other European countrys are all of a sudden warmongering (through the UN)? Is the unrest manufactured to solve their financial issues, protection of the Euro?

Just 3 to go, Erithrea, Somalia and Ethiopia. Then America has no more influence who enters or leaves through the suez canal. Israel will be doomed later IMO.

Agreed, things aren't looking up for Israel. It would be hard for anyone to protect them if warships had a hard time getting through the Suez canal. Not sure they could defend against a coalition of all those countries either.
