I happen to live in the area of Southeast New Hampshire, USA.

I recently had my oil tank filled and, after paying the bill, decided that it might be time to shop providers.

What I found is this: You can shop for damn near anything that you want online, but you can't shop for a home heating oil provider.

There are pricing comparisons online for damn near everything including gasoline, but not home heating oil.

Thus my question: What gives with home heating oil and competition? Why are all of these 'providers' not advertising their rates prominantly in order to entice new customers?

Just the simple fact that there are no continuosly-updated search engines for heating oil (unlike gasoline) available makes ME feel uneasy, I don't know about YOU.

I really appreciate the info for this site, but it is not 'all encompassing' as are the likes of gasoline price sites.

I live in a Historic town, my house is over a hundred years old. We still have oil heating and have NO problem what so ever finding a provider. I know of two companies right off the top of my head, one of which has a fueling station in my town within walking distance.
