Flower of life at Abydos, proof of high technology?

So, there's still no proof, eh? Why doesn't someone just waltz up to one of those columns (with a video recorder) and tape themselves chipping away at the design to prove that it's laser cut? It's just that simple! If Zahi Hawass can "ok" a hole being drilled in a small door in the Great Pyramid, he'd be down with a chip or so off of a column, ya?

On a serious note, I doubt Zahi would allow it... partially because he's a terd, but also because he's not too keen on learning everything there is to know about ancient Egypt. How close can you get to the columns, anyway? All the pictures I've seen of those designs are pretty poor quality.
