New to this site: Super moon from Scotland

Wanted to reply to an earlier post but can't find how to reply within a thread!

Anyway, just been out and looked at the Super moon a few minutes ago, nice clear night and the moon is almost directly overhead but it is not as big and bright as I hoped it would be.

Anyway, everything seems calm and normal.

Hope that continues!

I've found a couple creditable people that state the reason we're having these Earthquakes is due to solar flares and super moon.

The super Moon will be tomorrow night. But i took some pics of the Moon tonight as my kids were saying how bright and big it is.

I told them wait till tomorrow night

im in glasgow, and although the super moon is tomorow i also have to say that i dont see any change i thought it would be closer, just looks like a normal moon to me, if its the same size tomorow im officially moving!! nothing exciting ever happens here! wqe donr see the northern lights when there is huge cme's cuz its always cloudy never saw the last lunar eclipse again cloudy, and now that we have crystal clear skies, the moon isnt putting in a performance!!....typical

Took a look myself earlier and have too say it is a nice moon tonight but i have seen better.

I got woods near me and i have seen the moon on some nights very large and what seems like balancing on the tree tops,its almost like i could climb a tree and touch it.
Im kinda hoping the moon tmw does show something a lot better then tonight otherwise it will be a bit of a let down since as i said i seen it a lot bigger then tnt in the past.

Im on the east coast of scotland by the way,smog free and cloud free right now so getting a good view.hope it clear tmw also.

I'm in the middle of Sweden, Sundsvall, which is like the same latitude as middle/north Canada.
The moon shines very well, I even checked if it was a lamp outside making the light but no, the it was the Moon.
We'll see what tomorrow will bring!

The moon will be 'just' 221,567 miles away, normaly 378 000 miles~

Thanks for the info.

From that, a rough calculation works out that it is just a little bit over half its normal distance. Now I see why there is a bit of fuss over what effect it may have.

Anyway, still 'looks' normal.

I just went out and had a look.

Its big and really bright but I can't imagine between now and tomorrow night it will be THAT much bigger or brighter.

Still great to look at though.

Was wondering this myself but in 24hrs I cannot see it being drastically closer.

I have a skylight over my bed, over the last few nights I can see the moon drift over as I try to sleep. It has been VERY bright lately. Noticeably, brighter.
