Can Someone Please tell me what the radiation level is in Southern California this week?

HI,
Does anybody out there really know what the levels of radiation are in Southern California...LA Area? Everytime I go outside for any length of time I get headaches, my throat starts feeling strange and I feel like this strange, coating or something in my mouth, I can't explain it. Is this the radiation? What is the Geiger Count and in reference to what, in the Los Angeles area? Is it expected to get worse?

I don't know and if its Mox fuel radiation only real rich people will have access to a meter that can read it...

Looking at the www.radiationnetwork.com... website, I see a reading of 20 to 30 at the only site on the network in California. (San Francisco, not LA) I don't have chart, but I think this is in the same range as the last several days. So at this point I doubt it is the radiation. Is it spring there yet? Pollen in the air or anything?

That worked...

My Radiation detector has been holding steady around 4.5 - 5 Counts per minute Micro-Roengtens for 3 days now.


No noticable increase.

I'm shocked that the radiation made it over here, I mean it was something I kind of expected to happen, but really realizing that it's happening is just insane.....(If that makes sense).

I live in Oregon, by the way.

Just wanted to post a link to a geiger counter in Las Vegas in case anyone else is watching/lives here too...it's not nice and digital like the one in LA but at least it's something. If I could afford one I'd buy one, until then it's searching the internet for feeds for me.

It's called smog. I get the same reaction every time I go back up to LA to visit family. I used to live in LA, but now live in San Diego County, where the air is much cleaner.

Maybe you ought to think of moving out of town, maybe even just down to Orange County? It would help. It might also help to take some allergy pills, and ask a doctor to test you for asthma, as that could be part of it, too.

Trust me when I say it's not the radiation. You get more radiation from being out in the sun all day than you will from this accident in Japan. Unless the pipes actually burst, which looks rather unlikely, there won't be fallout of any kind. Scientific studies proved there was no harmful effect on the citizens of Three Mile Island, where the pipes stayed intact, and this is the same kind of deal. A friend of mine just came home because his family was worried about him being over there due to the earthquakes and tsunamis, but he says that the whole situation with the power plant is being pulled out of proportion by the media. There's really nothing to worry about at this time. If the pipes burst, then start worrying. Until then, you're safe.
