Im no rocket scientist,or technology enthusiast,or mechanic, hell i cant even change my own oil,but it would seem very plausible to power a car with shifting magnets.By using magnets of different sizes that propel the car. When you want to accelerate, you would press a pedal that would position a magnet to a position that would repel the other magnet.Simply tie all this in to the drive trains. It seems a lot simpler than a combustion engine.I propose this be called the M CAR (magnetic car).I call my current car the S car, when people see me drive down the street, they say wow, look at that escargo.

I'd make a great M Car salesman due to my magnetic personality...

To be an M car salesman, you need balls of steel. With this in mind, you better stay away from magnets.

I really like the idea of magnets!

Its already possible, have a look at this.

Some people are going to say this is a hoax but believe me, its real, Ive done my research on it a couple weeks ago. It was sold at the end of last year for 30 million dollars to a Hong Kong firm who plan to mass produce it.

Your car would be more tempted to push itself apart then move forward.

Also, driving driving driving driving, "Wait is that signpost metal? Oh crap...."

PS~ Magnet generator looks promising.

I'd be worried about manhole covers sticking to it .

i was on about this to my mates the other day about trying it with a lightweight smart car.
if you used a solid rear exle and fix magnets angled to the inner of both wheels, then had other strong magnets on a metal rod /pulley system that goes closer to the inside of the wheel as you push the accelerator pedal it would work in my opinion, it would push the magnets apart and as the next magnet comes up on the wheel it should push that one and hopefuly continue onto a full rotation over and over again.
you could use the normal front brakes to stop also ;-)

Such permanent magnet motors do not work because they can only rotate until opposite poles get adjacent to each other and then stop dead (half a revolution at the very best). Electric motors operate because at least one or both the stator and rotor windings can have their magnetic fields switched or modulated (eg by a commutator or electronic switching) in order to prevent 'locking' of the rotor. The most durable setup would be a permanent magnet rotor and electronics driven stator poles such as you see in PC fans etc because there are no brushes or commutator required (much less to wear out).

Many have tried but none have succeeded (after you wade through the countless hoaxes and scams) at modulating or switching permanent magnet poles sequentially in order to get permanent motion. You could vary pole strength in sequence by sliding ferromagnetic material across selected airgaps which would 'short cct' selected poles at the right instants to prevent lockup but the mechanical energy required to do that would exceed the power the motor produces so it still would not rotate even a single revolution.

Find a way to rapidly switch on & off a permanent magnet or even make it do a controlled pole flip (non mechanical) at high speed without losing strength (and all this with a very tiny energy input) and you've cracked it, maybe on a Nobel Prize scale. Of course the next problem after achieving this will be how to regulate its power output & speed but I doubt we'll ever be needing to sort that one out

Greetings,

Well pilgrim you need to do some researching. Not only are there operable units out there of varying efficiency, I happen to know a fellow who has an operating model under development. His unit uses MONO POLE magnets and is very efficient.
peswiki.com is a very good website to keep tack of what is going on in the alternative energy field.

Your gov and the the power brokers are going to do every thing possible to keep this technology from you.

Selling a product like that is not indicative of that product being real, it can be indicative that the people who bought it didn't do their due diligence.

Mono pole magnet?? That's a good one. I smell snake oil again.

These stories go on decade after decade. Remember the 100mpg carburetor?

Greetings,

Well samkent looks like you jumped in before you did any research.

Mono magnets where recently invented, developed, and have some very unique properties. Why don't you do a web search and get educated.

Same for the 100 - 125 mpg carburetor. It was the danger to the oil companies that got the lead put in the gasoline decades ago because lead fowled out the super carburetors after a few hundred miles. This has been well documented and there is even a book available that goes into the history of these carburetors. Get educated before you embarrass yourself.

I agree 100%, we've been looking at Bedini, Newman and Gray motors to replicate. Imhotep labs and daftman on you tube demonstrate how to make a simple ssg circuit using a power supply fan and off the shelf components. We started small with the power supply fan to get the gist of things and now looking into bigger motors.

Show me proof that either the mono pole magnet or the 100mpg carb exist somewhere beyond imagination.

Wow.... I sense a troll here.

Monopole magnet... yea they have detected a TYPE of particle that exhibits monopole activity, but there is NO SUCH THING AS A PRODUCTION MONOPOLE MAGNET.

So how is your friend making something with something that doesn't exist?

There is no such thing as a monopole magnet currently in existence. It is a HYPOTHETICAL object, not a real one.

Find me ANYTHING to back up your statement and I'll retract my post.

Until then you are a TROLL.

I wouldn’t call him a troll.
I’d call him a gullible potential investor.
Now what was it P.T. Barnum said?

That was my first thought, but when he suggest searching into monopole magnets, that made me think he is a troll. Why? Because if you search into monopole magnets you find they do not exist.

But you could very well be right!
