About 2 months ago me and my son (21 years old) were playing Call of Duty at roughly 2:00 a.m. in Fremont CA at his house. As I was plying the game a light caught the corner of my eye and I looked out the window to see a bright white object in the distance. My son turned to see what I was looking at and immediately it shot off to the left at an extreme rate of speed and was gone. Immediately I asked him, "Uhhh...what did you just see?" He went on to describe what I had just perceived.

So I joined this site in an effort to look into Military or Satellite capabilities that could perform such maneuvers to no avail. I do not believe aliens are on earth, so what could this have been?

Well what you saw was a UFO. Now that does not make it a ET spaceship from outer space; but if you and your son saw something in the air that you do not know what it was then it is unidentified flying object.

Have any more information about it?

Scince you live in San Fransisco I would assume that there is a experimental aircraft being tested near your area (US Air base on sansome street.)

Edit: did not read your post very well, you were in fermont but there are some airbases several hundred miles away, still would guess experimental aircraft

Well it just hovered and looked brighter than a star to the point I could see a bright glare in my peripheral vision. I looked at it for maybe 3 seconds before my my son turned and looked. It then shot off. It was like a bright white star. Military?

If it's experimental military, they've been experimenting with it for the last 60 years or so. People have been reporting sights exactly like that for a long time. It's nothing recent.

No one here can tell you what you saw, period. There are no experts here, just thousands of people with thousands of opinions.

Currently there is no technology humans have capable of the flight characteristics you describe. Some will tell you that the military has some neat stuff, and they do test it often.....but they don't have anything that neat, that I can assure you. We have things that hover and transition to level flight, we have modified and unmanned mini-helicopters, we have a bunch of stuff. But nothing that can sit level then speed off in the blink of an eye. People around here will froth at the mouth about what I am saying, as they have some unhealthy desire to ignore reality and believe in the absurd, so you will have to ignore them or you will get sucked into a pool of ignorance that is a deep as you can't imagine, lol. Those are the ones that make the rest of us look like morons.

You had a very stereotypical UFO sighting, and unfortunately there is no where to go from there to get any solid answers.

WTF??? 'Im an old dude and don't buy into this crap but what the hell? The military must be doing this. There is no way for alien life form to travel the distance necessary to be observed in our solar system as per verifiable evidence and observation?

I cannot lie, the accounts from Fremont are a bit weird. But I am sure there is a logical explanation.

If you find that interesting, you have no idea. Do a little reading my friend. That sighting is nothing.

More than 700 unexplained reports.

Scientists testifying before Congress regarding UFOs.

And there is much, much more available to anyone who is curious and open-minded enough to seek out the information.

So...help me out debunkers. What is going on here? I'm not buying the alien stuff so what did I see?

Your use of the word debunker gives you up. Fine, you want debunked? Easy, you didn't see anything. Your making this all up just to screw around with those "evil" debunkers. The only other thing that could have given you away even more is if you used the term dis-info agent. Then it would have been a lock.

For all we know, nothing happened, you can your son were stoned on the couch playing cod and nothing more than a simple reflection caught both your eyes and you both made it into something it's not.

I don't know what you expect. You claim to have seen a light hover, then shoot off. There is nothing to "debunk". Simple as that. There is nothing to prove either. You have nothing more than an interesting story, one of thousands that you can find for just about any city in any state. People claim to see stuff all the time. No one knows what they are actually seeing. You would think in this day and age since this is so "common" there would be massive amounts of good quality video coupled with massive amounts of eyewitnesses per video as well.....but that never seems to happen.

There has to be a logical explanation. I ain't trying to hear the dooms day freak X planet BS I want scientific explanations.

Hmm..I have no idea. But you'll probably get a lot of people claiming it's aliens.

Impossible so give me a reasonable explanation.

And you know this how? Are you an expert on as yet to be discovered properties of physics, electromagnetism, fusion, or any one of countless undiscovered possibilities...

There is no proof it can't be done. I know, I know, you can't prove a negative...

I'm not saying this is alien craft, but it certainly cannot be completely ruled out. Check out Stanton Friedman's "Flying Saucers and Science" for starters. There are much more in-depth hypotheses elsewhere...

I'd highly recommend checking out a forum in your geographical location.

The members of ATS are from all over the world and your title doesn't indicate anything about Freemont or San Francisco.

I could extrapolate further upon the level of detail you have given but think it would be better for you to go and ask others from around your area if they saw "it".

As is we have you with a story on a UFO+ Aliens section of a conspiracy forum asking others to explain to you what you cannot provide anything further than a personal account for - I'm sure you can see the illogic here.

Start your investigation correctly and then perhaps post back here if you have anything of substance to discuss.

I'm a debunker if there's something to debunk, but this is a case of insufficient information.

I also can't say for sure it wasn't aliens, but of all the cases where there has been sufficient evidence to investigate, I've never seen any reason to conclude that, but some cases are unknown and could be aliens. Actually I believe there is probably alien life out there, but intelligent alien life is rare, and the claim that it's visiting earth would be an extraordinary claim requiring extraordinary evidence, which your sighting certainly isn't.

But I don't see how anyone can tell you what it is from the information provided, not through any fault of yours, you caught a glimpse of something and reported what you saw as well as you can, that's fine. But it seems unidentifiable from this limited information. Even when we have a videotape of a sighting it can be tricky to identify, but without even a video and no description of the object other than a light, nearly impossible to idenify.
