It looks a bit like a double exposure to me, although it's impossible to be sure. Notice where it crosses the window. The grey of the window as combined additively with the light grey of the "ghost", to produce white. Thats exactly how a double exposure would look.

If it were a transparent object, even glowing slightly, I wouldn't expect the resultant shade to be quite as bright.

... not that a know what a REAL ghost looks like, so I may be wrong.

Is it possible it's a flaw on the film? It has a kind of streak smear look to it. I think there may be ghosts. Im no expert on film, but is that possible that the film is scratched?

its an orb, but that is the most detailed orb i have ever seen!!!!

No, it's not a scratch, or uneven film development. Too neat and detailed.

It could be a double exposure from when he loaded the film into the camera (or took it out). He'd be in a dark room, and if there was a light or something overhead, and he left the camera shutter open, it might make a mark like that. The streaks could be from him picking up the camera quickly to put the lens cap back on..

This is one scenario, and purely conjecture of course.. but feasible. If it was an accidental double exposure, there are many variations as to how it could happen.

But seriously, that's a weird picture.

When I first saw it I thought...

Orb, with motion blur.

That thing looks like a giant eyeball with tentacles hanging down from it
what the heck is that thing if its not a flaw in the film or double exposure. If that thing is real I wouldnt want to be the first to try to make fiends with it creepy looking

That is one freaky picture.
But one question about the theory about a smeared orb. What the heck is that orb thing???

hmm... looks like the ghost of some fish... But seriously, that is one weird pic. It looks like a motion blur... but the ghost part is pretty strange.

It's a Beholder. I thought everybody had played AD&D...

If it's a double exposure I sure would like to know what image he mixed this photo with. It sure looks creepy. Alien.

No, not just you. Take a look at my username, avatar, location, mood and first line of my sig. I am a huge Lovecraft fan.

In fact, that eye looking thing in the picture reminds me of some Lovecraftian art that I have seen on the web.
