Howell McConnell - Ex NSA - and UFOs

Hi all

Jacques Vallee in his "Forbidden Science - Volume 2 " diaries makes mention of his search among the US intelligence agencies for individuals who were conducting UFO research. He found Dr Christopher "Kit" Green in the CIA, and also a Howell McConnell in the NSA.

My co-blogger has just posted an article on Howell McConnell at

as nothing could be found on the net about McConnell and his UFO interests.

We'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has come across Howell McConnell.

By the way we have just come across further information on McConnell in John B Alexander's new book "UFOs" and will post this shortly.

This has got to be the most unusual thread of the day...

Crackpots posting nonsense. If the mods don't catch it - vigilantes attempting to restore order and sanity get slapped back. Too bad the loony tunes get to run loose - because this might have been a pretty interesting thread.

Never heard of either of these guys but it certainly sounds like it might be worth investigating.

More information about Howell McConnell's UFO interests while in the NSA is to be found in John B Alexander's new book "UFOs:myths, conspiracies, and realities."

MConnell was involved with Alexander's "Advanced Theoretical Physics Project" which was an intergovenmental group looking at UFOs, with one of their aims to see if they could find who in the US Government was responsible for Governmental UFO research.

He was nothing more than your typical UFO hobbyist like us, just without the internet. So yeah, that meant people actually had to arrange to meet and discuss things that they shared interest in. Compared to today's times, that took considerable effort to keep something going for long. Folks today tend to get all confused about that simple fact and imagine all sorts of secret groups having secret meetings and such. And certainly he tried to use any contacts he could from his government work, like anyone interested in this subject would, but in the end he found nothing of any significance.....which is typical.
