Society is filled with dualistic sides and opposing views. Democrats vs Republicans, Rich vs poor, Good vs bad, etc. People often choose a side, but what many do is that they disregard the other side entirely. They view them as the enemy and do not understand the other side Regardless of what side you are on, it is important to try and see things from the other groups' perspective. Don't disregard them entirely. If you paint them as enemies and make no attempt to reconcile, don't expect things to end well.

This is also true for everyday life. If someone is treating you poorly, try and see things from their perspective, as hard as that might seen. If you can see their perspective, then you might be able to understand and come to terms. t's my personal belief that we are in a crucial time for humanity, so this is more important than ever. We need to be more tolerant of each other.

To wrap up things, just remember that with people, there's always another side of the coin. If you don't understand them, try. We all have situations where we feel like we cannot understand another. But trying to and keeping an open eye is often all we need. And if all else fails, let the universe guide you.

If I wanted to hear this kind of crap I would go to a school...not to sound mean, but man...at least use an off-topic board...anyway, the last people you want relationship/emotional advice from are ATS members...we insane fool!

haha good post ive had the exact experience with girls too. you're right we all have to have compromise, being close-minded will only stop you from growing up. if we step back and look at the dualities, we can live better.

I'm not looking for relationship advice. What i was trying to say was that there is always another perspective to see things from and to disregard it would be ignorant. There's always another side of the coin, and it is often enlightening to see things from that perspective.

My thread was moved! Darn it! I wasn't looking for relationship advice, just giving a personal example. Dang it!

Haha, sorry, I see you were making a some what philosophical point, but it's mostly just a story about a relationship. It's doesn't really matter where it is anyway dude, people will see it, I wouldn't want people to read this anyway if I were you.

This thread definitely had the veneer of an interesting philosophical idea, but the substance of a relationship dilemma, hence why it was moved.

Such a thing causes me to pause, making an assumption about the world based on the precariousness of a girl. At least it seems like you are being led to something positive in terms of empathizing with others.

The universe does seem to give us back what we put out there though.

Ahhh, well that's the good thing about being able to remain anonymous I guess. But you better hope this girl doesn't visit ATS, she seems crazy enough, to freak you out.

I read your little exchange with her, and I would have to admit, that is/would be annoying. She does sound a wee bit unstable, lol. I like your point though, about the other side of the coin.
